Questions Regarding McBoot

Greetings to Everyone.

1st of all, i'm not 100% sure if this is the correct sub-forum to be posting questions which i wanna ask. if it's in the wrong sub-forum, please help me to moved it to a proper forum.

2ndly, i want to ask questions regarding mcboot. okie, i've successfully installed A mcboot version 1.7 into my ps2 [i'm using a PAL ps2, model 39002 series, modded to play any version of game, NTSC,PAL,Japan]

and with it, i've installed ULE, SMS, and Codebreaker 9.22.ELF. okie, ULE and SMS runs perfectly smooth [i've somehow adjust the "OSDSYS" system to the correct path].

and i did the same for CB 9.22 as well. okay, problem is , when i click on CB v9.22 to start, it loads.. and then a menu comes up say "loading" .. and after that, "black screen".

i doubt there's even any problem with the path i set, coz when i insert the USB pen drive, it really does load up the CBreaker, but then i don't want to use the USB help to boot up CB. just wanted to use the memory card to boot up the programs i've just installed to MCboot.

Just for a fact, there is no Codebreaker 9.22. People have been mislabeling that for quite some time now.

Now, depeding on your mod chip, Codebreaker doesn't like some settings depending on the version. there are a number of versions that doesn't like to be forced into ether NTSC or PAL. the forced display settings must be either disabled, or set to color. once done, codebreaker should work. but this takes away from the ability to boot imported games. from there, I'm not sure what to do since I don't own a PAL console. sorry. but I can say once the chip config is fixed, you should be able to cheat on some games.

okie, thanks for the reply. erm, but i don't think that i've gotten the answer yet. i've just re-read the questions which i post and it seems too confusing. anyhow, i'll be posting pics up sometime later for better understanding.

and oh yeah. thanks for pointing out the fact that there's no version 9.22 , but still iw onder why some of them called it that way? /heh

I just know on codemasters project, they have renamed the codebreaker to 9.22 to allow you to add unofficial Day 1 codes.

That is how I got yakuza 2 day 1 files added.

ohhhh, now I remember that one. that one crashed horribly and forced me to reformat my HDD. I was so pissed over that one. Had my HDD filled up and ended up having to do a long full format.
