FMCB EXPERT help with swap disk backup play
Hi Guy`s ,
1st let me say hello to everyone and having browsed the forums I must say they look ACE!.
Now to my confussion with this fmcb.
OK I have swap magic disks versions 3.8 cd & dvd which play backups fine
but I would like to use fmcb to enable me to play backups I have now that work with my SM disks so as I can just pop my backup in the ps2 PAL-slim- SCPH-77003 without 1st booting up via my original SM .
I have read lots of threads and tuts but still unsure if this is possible?
So in summary I want to add some form of swap magic exploit to fmcb so I no longer need to 1st boot my original swap magic disks .
I do have original smdisk version 3.8 so is it possible to do?? or am I barking up the wrong tree here?
Please any one with the knowledge please explain how I would proceed.
I have managed to follow this tut http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials..._swapmagic.htm
and have installed fmcb to my memory card but upon pressing x at 1st main mc boot screen I get no boot.elf file found if I contine everything else load AOK to the MC.
Please help any of you guy`s with the knowledge and thank you all for any assistance.
Regards Polosolo

It seems you forget to put the "BOOT.ELF" (which is usually "unofficial launchELF" a.k.a. "ule").
Did you copy it to the right location?
If not,... You mustn't reinstall.
Just copy your "BOOT.ELF" to
mc0:/BOOT/
or leave it on USB-Stick, but it is good to have this app on mc.

Hi m8 thanks for your help.
I coppied the BOOT.ELF file to the SWAPMAGIC folder and rename it to SWAPMAGIC.ELF as per the tutorial .....are you saying I also needed to copy the BOOT.ELF file which I aquired from the uLE v4.28 zip to the INSTALL folder root on the usb them run the process again with the swap magic v3.8 dvd disk .
Will this then allow me to boot my backups from the browser screen without the need to use my swap magic dvd ?
Thanks for your help patience and time m8 .
Regards Polosolo.

You don't need to run the process again, but just put the BOOT.ELF on the root of your USB and start your PS2 with USB in.
uLaunch.elf 4.28 will load, and then you can use it to browse to your USB device and copy BOOT.ELF to your BOOT folder on the mc0.

Think I`am lost hear guy`s ...I have loaded the files up into the MC and everything looks ok all passed and said insallation done..
When I view my browser in the ps2 I can see
-=< FREE McBOOT>=-
Browser
System Configuration
uLauncherELF
ESR
HD Loader
Simple Media System
Free McBoot Configurator
-=< Version 1.7 >=-
I don`t have no option to load SWAP MAGIC but from the tutotial here and about halfway down the page.
http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials...all_guide.html
it is there on the Browser menu ,So I must be doing somthing wrong and missing some vital information ??
Guy`s can you PLZ tell me ,can I boot the backups I have now, which boot nps with my swap magic disk v3.8 if I can get the correct configuration in
FREE McBOOT.
Again Guy`s thanks for all your help and support.

Congratulations!
You did a default FMCB-Install.
Now put your SwapMagic-ELF where you want (I suggest USB-Mass, because of the file-size), run the configurator and map SwapMagic to your OSD.
That's it.
But,... You ever need an original disc for swap magic, in order to swap to a backup.
You don't need the swap-Magic-Discs anymore, but still an original PS2-Game (at best with a high TOC).
Hope that helps.
I'm going to -->  .

You could use the ESR elf to boot your backups that way you don't need to do any disc swapping at all.
The down side is you would need to re-burn your backups after patching the ISO's.
