Hi i have a german ps2 can i play with the Free MC BOOT jap games?

If the Gameshark is capable of running an ELF files from a USB stick, sure. If its only able to transfer save files, then you can install the PS1 Exploit {fat consoles only} and run uLaunchelf from the PS1 exploit to boot Free McBoot's installer from the USB stick.


A lot of work, but worth it . Gotta make some tutorials on that i guess.....

As far as i know you can do so (if your game disc is original) by using the hdtv player...gotta ask someone at ps3-tools.de how he did it with the hdtv player

That's not really what he asked about, though he may still be interested in your info.

But what he really asked is if FMCB will allow him to play japanese games, and the correct answer to that is:
No, FMCB itself does not in any way modify the game booting.

But other homebrews that FMCB gives you the ability to use, such as ESR, can do that job.

A dvdv patched backup game for ESR should run on a console of any region, regardless of the region the original game disc was intended for. I have tried this myself using both japanese games (mainly "FFX International") and US games (many different) on my PAL v15 PStwo console.

been reading a lot of things telling about swapping a game with gameshark for ps2, but not sure if it can be done on a slimline. if so couldn't you load the installer on a slim from a burnt disc? i'm just not sure if it can be done, i haven't succeded.
