The new version brings added stability and removes the ability to direct boot (due to it not working properly anyways). For those of you concerned with if this uses the latest LV2 Patcher, the latest LV2 Patcher is actually based off of Gaia 2.04 (utilizing it's patch.txt).

...kmeaw has updated his github with a new version of his LV2 Patcher program. The latest version fixes some of the crashing that users previously experienced. For those of you using the newer backup managers, with built in lv2 patching, you will need to wait for those respective developers, to update their individual managers.

With the release of five main custom firmwares already, most of you are scrambling for a guide on how to install them. Well, the folks at PS3hax have delivered just that, bringing us a well written, easy to use tutorial, on installing Kmeaw Custom Firmware. Kmeaw is the latest CFW to be released, coming out earlier today. So far it seems to be the best option for CFW, as there have been practically no reports of bricking. On the other end of the bricking spectrum, Waninkoko's CFW is currently not recommended, due to high reports of console bricking.
