New Modchip for PS3!!Welcome INFECTUS!!
Hello I was looking around in find this info for does that have a PS3 this is totally good news!!!!
Infectus2 modchip is a new thought for the last generation of consoles, but specifically for Playstation 3, is a programming interface via USB, a reprogrammable Core (or upgradeable), with 512kb flash on board.
Among its features obviously allows the use of backups of DVD and BluRay, direct communication to any PC via USB, easy installation and a relatively affordable price (45 Euros).
The beta firmware can now be downloaded from its official website and has promised that it will soon be in the alpha state first firmware for the PlayStation 3 consoles in use 80 gb (the only seem to be capable of being modified via INFECTUS).
While the site does not specify that the console is within its category (as the architecture of INFECTUS Argon is used in e Injectus, Wii and Xbox 360 respectively) the first Firmwares are already available for that console for all those who want to schedule them and improve them, moreover, its architecture is perfectly molded to the Playstation 3 and it is the imminent departure of the modchip.

i think it's valid. there is some progress on hacking ps3 on ps3hax.net, and they mentioned it a few times.
but i have no idea how reliable is ps3hax.net, though ;-)

I must be missing something Tony, because on that link you posted here is all I see:

InFeCtuS is the first versatile modchip ever released in the market, created to work with many different consoles. InFeCtuS will give you access to so many features that it's impossible to describe them all today, some are still in development and more will come in the future, just stay tuned on www.infectus.biz
We developed this modchip with an OPEN concept, we use a CORE reprogrammable, a 512kb flash on board and an USB interface for the PC communication.
The hardware has a very HIGH QUALITY component design
Suggested retail price: 45.00 EUR

I don't see any mention of Blu-ray or PS3 anywhere.

I thought you meant that you thought the modchip overall was a fake. There's really no mention about the PS3 from the website link. However, I can give you a link from one of the chips resellers here: http://www.modchipcentral.com/store/...chip-p-70.html
The above link shows that there's support for the PS3 but I don't know about the confirmation about it's functioning for PS3. Thanks!

This isn't mentioned anywhere on the infectus website.

Again, this firmware is not on their site or forums.
The infectus can be used on PS3 to downgrade to previous firmwares. The firmwares are signed to your console. So this means that you can only downgrade to a previous firmware that belonged to you. You CAN"T downgrade using your buddies firmware, therefore no custom firmware like the PSP.
There was that hack that SkaterFU discovered a couple months back. A few people tested it and said it worked. But then it just disappeared and I haven't heard a word about it. So who knows what happened there, if it was a fake or maybe they are working on it as we speak.

I agree with ya! There's more info info about the modchip from vendors than their own website. It's kind of weird. Thanks!

So you can only downgrade to the original version your PS3 started with when you bought it?

infectus2 for ps3 is pretty much useless right now, it was just a quick fix thing for backups, i dont know to much about it as i never installed one into a ps3,
the actual infectus2 can be used on xbox i think" wii and ps3, infectus2 is pretty much a dead project, argon2 will be coming out shortly with newer features that will also support xbox and wii,
there is no new news for ps3 as of yet maybe some time in the next 3 months or more
stay tuned to infectus team
cheers
