PC to PS3 via LAN

I don't have internet, and I want to connect my PS3 to my PC to download stuff from my PC to the PS3. How do you get them to talk to each other? Can someone point me to a tut. or something? I'm tired of downloading to usb then usb to ps3.

For copying ps3supported stuff like musik, pictures and movies just set up a media-server (for e.g. WindowsMediaplayer11, WinampRemote oder TVersity), browser the server and press triangle on the folders / files and choose the copy fonktion.

Not supportet stuff could not be copied to your internal HDD, for copying gamedemos or psn games youŽll have to set up an proxi-server on your PC, catch the .pgk file address an make an install over the folding @home feature.

Thanks, I'll try using Win.med.player, haven't tried that yet...But I can't get them (the ps3 and pc) to communicate to each other or "see" each other yet. I'v tried regular ethernet cable, crossover cable, hub and switch, tried a bunch of settings in my pc for direct connections, lan connections, etc..So far, no go! Thanks for tip.

O.K. try it so:

- install Windows Mediaplayer 11, start it
- connect the PC and PS3 via a crossed LAN Cable, make sure that both are in the same IP Circle.
- start PC and PS3, go to XMB an go to Music or Video an search for a Media-Server (PS3 wont find anything)
- got to Mediaplayer 11 (see the pictures below, instead of the 360 there should be an "unkonown Device"), go to "Media-Bibliothek" an the choose "Mediasharing" or anything like this, Enable "share to" - leave with O.K.
- go to your PS3 and search for a Mediaserver once more, a Mediaplayer-Server shoul be found ! Browse an stream your shared Media-Files, to copy files, browse to them and press triangle.
