Megabox Media Center for PS3

PS3 homebrew project called MegaBox. MegaBox is similar to a media center, similar to the XBMC on Xbox 1, fully functioning on the PS3.

The MegaBox has many cool features that any PS3 owner would find interest in such as VoIP, P2P, TV, Movies (Including MKV), and much more! The full list is below.

The best part is the program will require NO INSTALLATION, and would be OPEN SOURCE (based on FREEVO). In layman's terms, all you need to do is pop in a CD/Flash drive with the program and anyone can enjoy it without too much problems (no need for linux either).

This would be awesome, but how would get the ps3 to load unsigned software?

MKV support would be awesome!

There is no way to get Hardware Acceleration on PS3 (For Linux)
Sony keeps close access to the GPU (graphics card).
All is done by software.
So there is no way by now....

O.k.

i checked this out and i must say it´s a really cool thing to have thin on my PS3 System. Much better than a "stupid" Ubuntu or YDL distro.

Cool thing, but does it play 720p? or 1080p?

I don know for sure where to check the resolution but i think its "stored" to 720p.

I still enthusiastically about Megabox 2.0 !

yes its under use here and it works really great.

It dont work an a SDTV, only 720p
