Both the 20GB and the 60GB PS3's can have their HDD replaced, all you need is a SATA Notebook HDD, brand doesn't matter.
Personally I would get a 120GB later on, that should be enough for quite some time I think.

It's a very very very easy mod to do, just take cover off, unscrew one screw, pull the cage to the side and then lift out, replace the HDD and then put the HDD cage back in, slide the cage back to where it was and you're done.

I upgraded mine to a 160 GB drive without any issues, but there are some things to remember:

- Firmware update to 1.32 was done before the upgrade and was not rolled back after
- PS3 detected the new disk and formatted it after being powerd on
- Save games/downloads/game updates were lost (obviously)

There are several videos on YouTube; just type "PS3 upgrade" in the search box and you should get at least 3 on the first results page.

Guys a lil help here, I've got a 320 GB SATA laptop hard drive but I'm wondering, when I put it in my PS3, will I have to re-install the PS3 stuff (like the OS, game saves etc) and how can I do that?
I know it's easy to transfer it, and I've done that, but when I turned my PS3 on, all I got was a black and then blue screen. So I put my PS3 one back in and it's fine D:

I don't have a ps3, but from what I've read, yes. Also there should be some sort of option on the system to perform a backup so that your current files/OS can be transferred to that new hdd.
