Hummm.. Its a good idea, but think with me.. if we can select mods as a main menu options too we could play other mods without having to reset the ps2.. Or if its not possible it would be interesting to make a way to return to your Mod Selection Screen (that appeared in the begging.. almost like a software reset).
Waiting your opinion

Well, you have to understand that the PAK files starts right after the splash screen. Okay, the menu disposition and stuff is rigid and hardcoded, and I already add some ps2 patches to it (like screen position or memory card save), but I don't want to do a 'radical' code change. I might add a "quit" button though in the menu, yeah, in order to go back to the main menu. However, I am 99.9% the original senile's engine has memory leaks; that is, if I "quit" back to the main "pak selection" menu, I think it wouldn't free all the memory.
Well, when I am typing this, I am thinking I can maybe do some "workaround", or a "software reset" as you say. That's something to try.

Cool, I hope you will figure out a way to "software reset" it
Maybe it could reset when pressing START+SELECT for 2 secs or something like that

If I renamed my bor.elf to something else would it still work? Would it still work with the cd tag? Examble: cd_hff.elf. I wanted to try to play some mods but only burn one cd for multiple mods. So I would have hff.elf which loads hff.pak and hf2.elf that loads hf2.pak etc. So I could just brows the cd and launch the helf I wanted to play. Does this sound possible?
Also, I'm fully aware that more than just the name would need to be changed.
Edit: Nevermind I have my answer.

I have this problem also & I found what causes it. First of all, rename bor.elf to HDD_BOR.ELF & rename BOR.PAK to bor.pak. As it turns out, the prog won't work if bor.pak is capatilized. The game will load up & run perfectly thru PS2MENU only if the file name is bor.pak & not BOR.PAK.

PS2BOR stands for PS2 Beats Of Rage. Beats of Rage is a homebrew streets of rage clone. PS2BOR can be downloaded from http://ps2bor.ps2-scene.org/ , this download only contains the PS2 exectuable (*.elf), you also need the bor.pak data file, to get the bor.pak data file, you have to download the Beats Of Rage game from http://www.segaforums.com/senileteam/bor_game.php .
You can read about what Streets Of Rage is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streets_of_Rage .

@ axle318
I tried several times to burn a cd in the way you described, but it ends with only loading the splash screen as already mentioned above. What has to be in the SYSTEM.CNF ? Do you use cdgen? I cant save "BOR.PAK" as "bor.pak" ?
Where is the failure?
Could you please make a detailled explanation how to create a mod-cd of BOR?
This would be very useful for some guys here in the forum.

I was able to run it off hdd.
What I did was.
Insall bor.elf (NOT hdd_bor.elf) and bor.pak in the folder of name of the game ie X-Men. Then put the files in there. And then boot it off from uLE. And it works just perfect.
Although I have to note that not all bor games works with ps2bor. I am fine with that since the games is basically same concept of game. So I only keep few of my favorites version of bors in hdd.

I first followed the how to rip a DC CDI for a BOR pak to play it on PS2, however I've wasted numerous discs that go nowhere past the PS2BOR license screen, as many have had probs with. In CDGenPS2 I put the SYSTEM.CNF, cd_bor.elf, bor.pak, and dummy files in exact order, however it did absolutely nothing, and brought me to the red cloud "insert a Playstation2 compatible disc. I use a slimPS2 with swap magic, what can I do to get the game running?

install free mcboot on a memory card, and run the game from a pen drive. for some reason no one ever made .pak select support for ps2bor so you will have to make a seperate folder with elf and pak for each game you want. since bor.elf searches for the game in the same directory 2 paks in one directory = no go!
also make sure your .pak file is name bor.pak regardless of what game it is since bor.elf searches for this.
you should at least reach the bor spalsh screen this a good start and you will no the elf is at least loading. you should be aware that ps2bor does not have the greatest compatibility so not all paks will work. ive notice mostly kungpows paks do not work, to bad too they are some of the best.
but yeah if you have swap magic you should definatly get free mcboot so you can ditch using discs to run your homebrew
