Duo 3 Gold issue?

Hey!
Just installed a Duo 3 Gold chip in my Version 4 PS2. But theres something wrong. When i boot the PS2, it takes forever until I get to the language selection screen. The sound is ok, but the logo and text is in black and white. I get the to the next screen, which is timezone selection. When timezone is selected, the screen fades out, and nothing.... Just a nice black screen.
Anyone encountered such problems before? Something wrong with the soldering?

The gold Duo's had issues.
