Noobie help!

Hi All, first post in this forum.

I am contemplating modding my ps2 and i have a few questions if anyone is willing to help out.

1. What do you think about the Duo 3 Ultra modchip? is it any good?
2. How do i find out which version board i have?
3. I heard that some board version have problems with the chip LA6508, can anyone specify on this please?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks a bunch.

1. Sorry, I didn't tested this myself,...
2. You can read the exact board-revision directly from the board (white text).
3. The FAT SCPH-50K-Models have a problem with the LA and the 70k-Models also need a Fix.
(4. You don't need a chip. Search for Free MCBoot a.k.a. "FMCB".)

Thanks for the reply.

At the moment i use the swap magic disc which works fine. however, i decided to install the duo 3 ultra on te ps2 as i will be doing modding for other people (currently only wiis). i found out that i have a v12 ps2.

One quick question:

i also ordered the laser fix as i read that i need it. i was wondering if the one i ordered is any good? (pic attached)

cheers

The laser fix you ordered is alright, although its not a complete fix... just a band-aid but it will do the job.

DONīT USE THE DIOD-FIX !!!!!!!!
It wont do anything to save your laser.Go with the SubZero or SumOne fix.
The SlimFix v3 or v4 is good to.
