Magic V plus 5k6

i have had this 5k6 for about 2 years now and i just havent had the time to put it in my ps2.
i decided to get this on today and all the specs say its for a V10
is it for V10 only or is it for up to V10??
i have a V7 and would like to avoid having to get a new chip
