Mouse/Keyboard-Controller emulator !
I was actually thinkin that ppl would enjoy all those fps games alot more if they were able to use a usb keyboard and a mouse ...
Is it possible to compile an elf that when is loaded, would be configurable for the keyboard key mapping and for the mouse ?
then it would be able to launch any game (launchelf code?) in the drive (or load hdl from mc or hdd) and work like an emulated digital-controler (keybord) and one analog stick (mouse)...
is it too extreme ?
[maybe we dont need a new app .. maybe this could be implemnted through ulaunchelf..dlanor is the one who can say yes or no !]

That would be cool. I have a FanatecGameBoard controller. It's a usb keyboard with a mouse, specially for the ps2. But it only work's with a game that already supports a keyboard/mouse.
There's also a little device calles Smartjoy FRAG ( http://www.smartjoy.com/) . It's sort of a little device that you can put in your USB slot of your ps2. Then, just put a PS/2 mouse and keyboard in it, and you can program all the buttons you want.
It's not expensive. I'm thinking at the moment to buy the Smartjoy
But it would be cool if a homebrew app could do this.

Yes, I'm 100% sure.
Press and Hold Esc, press previous button, press new button, release Esc. It's as simple as that
You can read more on their forum's and in they faq (available on their forum)

Hmmz, don't know. I guess the same way. Esc, previous button, new button, release escape. But I'm sure you can change those buttons as well.

It will take a while before I buy one. I'm saving for a new monitor first. (And since I want a good one, I'll have to save some time ) But I guess you should look up some reviews on the internet. I found a lot of them when using google. (Most of them where in dutch My home language:P)

I own both the "Smart Joy Frag" and the "Max Shooter" and both work well.
You can fully program all buttons and adjust mousespeed and deadzone.
You can save up to 11 different configs and instantly switch between them ingame. The mouse can be used for both analog-sticks, and so on...
It's not the same thing like using a PC-mouse, but I like it much better than playing with the pad.
Best regards Jones23
P.S.: I prefer the "Max Shooter".
EDIT: Forget what I told you about the MaxShooter. It's not better than the SmartJoyFrag.
Thanks to var3gen I just found out that the MaxShooter is a cheap, poorly designed, chinese copy of the SmartJoy.
The SJF is much better, regarding precision and mouse-speed. It's almost like using a PC-mouse.
So everyone: Get a SmartJoyFrag if you want a good quality product.
Sorry for my misleading posts. I hope you can forgive me.
Best regards Jones23

No prob, I hate playing FPSs with the pad, and so I did some research about a year ago. The first one I found was the SmartJoy, but that one isn't designed to fit on my PStwo. I had to put some books or so under my PS2 in order to attach the adapter, or use a extension cable. BTW they are not for the USB, but for the controller port, and that's why they work with really every game. You can attach a PS2-mouse (or USB-mouse with PS2-adapter) and a PS2-keyboard.
The Max Shooter was released some time later, and has a short piece of cable, which makes it easier to attach to a slimline. It has the following configuration options:
- fully programable keyboard and mouse button-config
- save up to 11 different configs
- Deadzone
- Mouse speed
- Invert mouse y-axis
- Swap move and look (to control the left analog with the mouse, eg for Silent Scope)
- Switch between analog and digital mode
The Smart Joy lacks the speed-adjustment (very important) and the analog-digital-toggle (not important) and you can only save 8 configs, so I would definitely buy a Max Shooter.
best regards Jones23

They where both around 30€, but I think the Max Shooter was a bit cheaper.
Found them in ebay-shops.

That's not so expensive:| Nice. Thanx Jones23 for the information and link. It's a lot cheaper that the SmartJoy FRAG.
