there is one on the pal network access disc then there is the eg browser, you can also use linux to do it

Are there no menu / media apps comparable to teh xbox progs? Have you seen Avalaunch or XBMC? Theyre amazing. Why aren't there respectable apps for the ps2 out there?

I am in no way discrediting the work of the many authors of the exsisting ps2 homebrew software, just wondering..

From what I understand, it's because the XBOX is basically a small PC, so it's very easy to code for. The PS2 code is very hard to work on starting from scratch.

Ahh.. I did understand that it was a DirectX based Dev Kit for teh XBOX. I guess the xbox homebrew dev (sdl-based) is about as far as the ps2homebrew... Im just trying to get started on the ps2.

Is it that insanely hard to code for the ps2? I'd imagine so, but there has been so much work done already...

I'm not a coder, so I couldn't tell you. From what I heard, though, it's not easy. Good luck. I hope you can turn out some pretty cool stuff.
