Hi-newbe with mcboot problem-help plz
HI All!
I need some help with mcboot.I'm trying install mcboot to a mc with a usb,I have a mcboot mc to boot with and using ulaunch got it to install on another mc once but the usb didn't work right-it would show media but not what it was.So I deleted everything off the mc and tryed to install again-thinking maybe I lost a packet somewhere. But now I can't get it to install at all.The install will open and show everything in it but not run like I got it to before.I tryed redownloading everything and that didn't work.I am using a guide and I've gone over it several times looking for something I missed, but I'm stumped.
Any ideas? Any help would be welcome!

OK, first of all is your MC third party or a Normal MC (some third party MC's do not work) Have you tried formatting your MC? do this in the FMCB installer by pressing triangle, just in case you have corrupted data, after format try the "Normal Install" function, if this does not work your MC is not compatible or i have missed something out..

Hi uNEEK, yes my mc is a sony ps2 mc-I was going to format it-but I can't get the install page(where you hit x to install)to come up.
Heres what I'm doing:
put the install and fmcb on usb drive
boot to it with fmcb mc using ulaunchelf(friends mc)
go to files,mass,install
when I hit o to install it opens the install folder and I don't get the page to format or to do a normal install
does that make sense?
I did get this to work once and did a normal install, but the usb didn't work right so I deleted it.I have gotten another usb drive and still can't get it to go to the install page.
Any ideas? I hope so,its driving me nuts!
Thanks!
Katie

...as the name "unofficial LaunchELF" implies, it launches ELF-Files.
Go to the same directory and do not "open" the "INSTALL"-Folder, but "execute" the "FREE_MCBOOT.ELF".

Okay, on Your USB Stick you have your Install Folder with Subfolders (APPS, INJECT, FMCB_GFG & MODULES) and you have your FMCB Installer "ELF" file in the same directory e.g:
launch your "FREE_MCBOOT.ELF" with uLaunchELF by going to mass: and pressing "O" on your installer "ELF", Install either normal or multi version you want and your good to go!

Hi uNEEK,I have what your showing, when I pull it up on the ps2 and go to mass, highlight "INSTALL" hit O and it opens the files not the installer,if I go to "FREE_MCBOOT.ELF" and hit O it goes to a black screen with loading.... on it and just stays there.Am I missing the installer? Or just not highlighting the right thing.
Thanks

Okay, Delete your Install folder (save your ELF's if you want) and FMCB.ELF file, download this rar file, extract the Install file and FMCB.ELF, i have put uLaunch & ESR into the apps file for u. place on USB stick, add your DVDINJECT or EMBED file if you wish put usb into PS2, boot ulaunch and then boot fmcb off usb........
The only thing i can think of is that your FMCB.elf is corrupt or damaged...

@gamer
I can see that you have problem with FMCB installer, it's freezing at Loading screen, right?
I can propose you two solutions:
1.Try to boot the installer with disc in tray.
2.Check in uLaunchelf settings the Disc control function, if it's ON the installer will freeze, just turn it OFF and the installer will boot fine.

"INSTALL" is a folder not an elf file... Just paste FREE_MCBOOT.ELF outside the INSTALL folder and make sure everything else you need is inside the INSTALL folder... If it stays at "Loading" screen when you run the FREE_MCBOOT.ELF then like kriKa69 said might be disc control or the file might be corrupted as the installer should take you to the installation screen even if there is no "INSTALL" folder...
I see you got it to work... LOL...
