Does Esr seem kinda slow?

I dunno if it's my ps2 or the brand of mc I use, but it takes 54 seconds from the console starts up with a ESR patched disc inside, to when the game screen is shown.
So I just wanted to know if it's supposed to take so long.
This is of course not a serious problem for me at all, but i just want to know

Oh and another thing, is there a way to get a psx backup to boot on a ps2 that is not modchiped without paying for something like swapmagic or gameshark lite?
If it isn't it, I still have my m33 psp

PS: You guys are awesome at ps2 exploiting, keep up the good work

1.If you count the disk loading and then ESR doing its thing that might be close to correct.

2. Yes on version 7 and up but this trick dose not work on lower versions.

It might be important, when this happens?
Is the disc recognized directly and it start ESR, or dos the disc even spin up, within the first 30seconds?

Some more infos might help.

THX & regards TnA

i had a silver fat ps2 dunno witch version :/ but esr was slow on that, games wouldnt boot each time, so i had to restart the ps2 and so on..

iam lucky that a friend of mine sells ps2s so i changed mine into a normal black fat one, and now games load in a flash of speed with just the same dvd+rs, so it wasnt a dvd media issue... but maybe my laser was screwed up i dunno
