Can someone tell me why my account doesn't work?

My other name willpower101 doesn't work anymore. I can sign in but I can't post and I can't even pm a mod for help! So I had to create a new account, but I'd like to be able to see my old subscriptions and such.

I just checked the members list of these forums here and there is no willpower101 listed, only willpower102. When was the last time you used this older username willpower101? If you registered with that username approximately between July 20, 2007 and March 18, 2008, then it's no longer listed because it got wiped out along with everything else that happened between those dates due to the database issue (read here).

yet I can actually log into my willpower101 account, see my control panel, and view threads I have created or posted. I just can't post, pm, edit, or reply.

This is really weird, because while "willpower101" is not visible in the member list as you say, it is still possible to search for posts made by the user named "willpower101", and there are plenty of hits found in this search. According to the post count shown in those messages he had made 35 posts with that username, and the oldest of those I found was posted in October of 2005, well in advance of the database crash...

Maybe it was just luck that not all old members were wiped out in the crash...

@dlanor: actually you're not listed on this member list either (see here). I guess there is a reason why this list is no longer being linked to on this site then, probably not connected with the main database anymore?

@willpower: I can also see from your profile, that you're missing tabs: Visitor Messages, About Me, Friends, Contact Info, and missing the two side sections for "Friends" and "Group Memberships", which everyone should have in their profile. I also noticed your last post from this willpower101 account was on 05-21-2007, 10:08 PM, which was only two months before the site went down, so something probably happened to your account during this database issue. Perhaps xiaNaix can fix it, I'm not sure. If I can remember, I'll mention it to him the next time I see him online.

Its possible his account went into an inactive/unactivated usergroup, and it would be required to have an admin move it to a registered user group then.

Hey thanks guys! That'd be awesome if you could mention it to a mod that could look into it. I picked a mod at random and pm'd him about it but I'd be good to get to a person that has access to change stuff like that.

Depending on the permissions set for moderators, i dont think they have access to change user groups, except to put a user into the Banned user group. You will need to wait til an admin can visit and set your account straight.

You hit the nail on the head. and also, us moderators don't have the set privliges to reset from inactive to standard 'Registered User'. Only an admin has this right.
