uLaunchELF need a restart to run
Hi all, i got uLaunchELF working almost perfect on my PS2 Slim modded With MODBO 4... (matrix Clone)... the only problem its this one:
when i turn on the PS2, its BOOT normal SONY OS and game... (NO ULAUNCHELF BOOT)...
then i press power/reset... ULAUNCHELF 4.25 BOOT perfectly...
i have set DEV.olution 1 on my MODChip setup, trying pressing some buttons like R1 at the frist BOOT and nothing Happend!
PD: i got Uncompressed "BOOT.ELF" file on a directory called "BOOT" in MC0 (Memory card 1 Slot)
Regards!

Looks like something is wrong at your side.
Try FMCB e see what happens.

I'm glad it works for you with FMCB, but I still want to warn you that something might be wrong with your modchip installation.
From what you say it appears to fail in detecting the initial power-on boot state, thus never checking for the buttons you pressed, and hence requiring an extra reset to do it right. Normally the power-on state should be detected and treated the same way as a manual reset, and if that doesn't work with your chip it could mean that a wire is loose...

With FMCB the buttons work fine, if i press R1 (i put uLE there) uLE run at the frist time, but, if i dont press any button the DVD start by him self, i am from Chile, my Slim was moded with modBO 4 (matrix clone), maybe the wire needed for the function its the same wire for play PSone gamez, here when you buy a new modded PS2 that wire its not present for care of the console lens!
Regards!

U should try the normal BOOT.ELF and not the uncompressed one for booting it with DEV1

Actually if there was a problem, he should try uncompressed boot.elf, but that is totally helpless, I dunno of any problem caused by a packed file.
You should use compressed one to save space though.

I never have any problem activating the FTP server in uLE, and I always use the compressed elf.
Not only does this save space, but on slow media, like MC or old USB sticks, unpacking a large block of well compressed data often saves time compared to loading the uncompressed version.
I don't see what could be the cause of your problem, and I can't test it myself since it doesn't happen on my consoles. If it really is your modchip interfering, then I don't think I can do anything about it. Sorry, but that's just how it is...
Best regards: dlanor
