Wont load video file
I'm trying to load an avi file, but when i do it just momentarily goes to a black screen for a split second, then it does not load. Whats wrong?
Also I want to load another file but it only plays the sound with no video, it just shows the bubble visualisation, and the start button wont work during its playback. Is there anything I can do?

The first video, probably isn't compatible w/ SMS yet! The second video, the audio in the video is probably coded in mp3 format, that's why you can only hear it!

OK. The second one uses AVC/H264 video, unfortunately that is not supported by SMS, and may never be, as the PS2 simply does not have enough processing power to play that type of video. ('Bleach' releases recently changed to this incompatible video type, they used to play fine )
To play that file on SMS you will need to convert the video to a compatible format. Personally I use avidemux for this task http://downloads.sourceforge.net/avi....4.3_win32.zip
Open the video in avidemux, choose 'avi' as the format, leave audio on 'copy', choose 'MPEG-4 ASP (xvid)' for video, then save the file with an .avi extension.
(If the file comes out too large you'll need to click on the 'configure' button under 'video' in avidemux and turn the 'quantizer' up to 7 or 8 and save again.)
The first file really should work in SMS. Try opening it in avidemux and setting both audio and video to 'copy' and format as 'avi' then saving. This 'might' do the trick.

On some video i had to change the frame rate to 25 FPS to see something (i could hear the sound but nothing else)... As your video is not at 25FPS, it could be the reason...

I encoded the second file (bleach), but it gets the same problem as the first, but shows the beggining of the video in that split second.

Yes! I got the first one working all I did was encode it the way peterdcrees suggested (mpeg4-asp). The only problem is that its a bitch to encode, takes quite a while. Thanks alot peterdcrees.
