@EEUG:
Well, since RTSP needs the ps2sdk with ntba2's additions that I don't have and don't quite feel like trying to build at the moment and since I got bored messing with the WMV decoder, I've decided to update Argon to the latest SMS version, which is a bitch without the SVN. In the process I've decided to get rid of these built in modules completely, but realised that they differ (I don't mean the ones from SMS' drv) from the ps2sdk's ones.
So, the question is, as I'm concerned about incompatibilities, what drivers you have used?

...SMS uses its own drivers. You can use the "official" ones also as driver interface is exactly the same...

@lythaniel:
@everyone:
EEUG has not shown any activity at psx-scene since the site was revived, so don't expect any speedy responses from him. We don't know if he's coming back at all...

Best regards: dlanor

Great! EEUG and his SMS project are important 'pillars' of this site.

Привет EEUG, как дела!
Well, as I've noted in the Argon thread I'm going to fix the weather issue, so may I ask you for the latest SMS version.

What do you think about going back to opensource, cause I believe that there aren't much economic prospects left nowadays for stealing it and it's a real shame to have the only useful homebrew programm for the PS2 locked down. Plus, it's a real pain in the ass to keep Argon updated without the SVN.

And btw., what do you think about adding UPNP support, yes, I've heard that you dislike all that XML stuff, but we may team up with that - I can do the XML part, and you can make all that low level IRX stuff (shudder).

@user112: ...I'm quite OK, thank you. For the moment I will not publish the source code. I really don't like the fact that "someone(s)" were trying to use it for commercial purposes. Sorry for that. Basically you can use sources from SVN as the only differences are:

- more optimized decoders;
- extra audio codecs (as far as I know argon already has them, though I've used different implementations and extra optimizations);
- eastern subtitles support;
- countless attempts to fix bugs not related to decoding;

There's another problem: source code contains some elements of my plan "B" loader (they are "#ifdef'ed, so these elements are not included in the binary release) and I've got some kind of agreement with "some company" not to disclose any information related to it till certain moment. I think this is understandable. Sorry again...

P.S. ..new features like UPnP, JPEG viewer etc. are not considered at the moment as I'm making some architectural changes in order to reduce RAM usage (there's too little left for the new code)...

You don't have to keep apologizing, you did what u thought was best,
but maybe some of us were hoping to see how u did it, now the free mcboot is out in the open..

there are still slight problems with C/DVD usage, but furthermore it is working,
and SMS is working as good as it always has.

PS. Thanks for the FLAC-Support, very nice works like a charm

why don't you just exchange code privately then? i really like argon having sms as a backend. it would be only natural to get latest and greatest.

well can't it be preprocessed out in that case? it would not seem too difficult, just some text-wrangling magic ;-).

@euug:

Hi, is it possible for the ps2 to have a real video mode of 720x576 on PAL?

Like in dvdplayer.elf?

maybe it would be possible to include a method to call the dvd player pointing it at a VIDEO_TS folder on iso over the network.
this would allow SMS on ps2 to play dvds without dvd drive functionality.

if this was illegal you could make an extra sms elf file with this functionality, distributed over 'unofficial' channels ie. SKS-Apps
