Question

HD and Exploits

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I got a few mod questions about the ps2.
1. is there any way I can use hdloader/hdadvance/usbextreme just by putting it in the ps2 disk tray and it working?
2. I have a US ps2. without using freeloader, what other ways can I get a web browser. I don't even care if it's an exploit I just wanna know how.

Thanxabunch

You need to do a memory card exploit or similar to get it working.

There is something called VAST these days I have noticed, I have no clue what it is though...

If you have a FAT PS2 with a hard drive, USB keyboard/mouse, you can run a browser like dillo in PS2-Linux X-Windows:

It may take a little more setup time because it is a complete operating system, but I use this setup at my friend's house for web browsing and other things, and it works great for most webpages (ignores flash and javascript, which is probably a good thing).

If you have a SLIM PS2, you can get it to work with a USB drive I believe, but it seems more difficult. Look on forums.ps2dev.org for this solution.

could you share a dump of your ps2 linux partition? (excluding personal data, of course) i'd like to have some kind of decent starting point, as i'm planning to make a custom distro with elinks browser for ps2, and i'd like some starting point.

Btw.: I'm searching a partition-dump of an only "installed" Linux, with all-apps without user-info.
So, that it is fully installed, with all apps available but not configured.

PM-Please (just a BlackRhino-Image.), or info where I can find differents.
Want to create an easy-installer-cd for me.
No need of all time installing an app per hand.
