Shutdown matrix infinity
I had my ps2 modded about a week ago by a professional and he is currently gone and he didn't tell me how you shutdown the chip to go online, can any of you tell it? And is it difficult if you don't know anything about the technical stuff?
When I start my ps2 under "Playstation 2" there is : "infinity 1.42" does that mean I've got to update my bios? and how do I do that?
Is it normal that the ps2 makes more noise then before the chip was in it? Its not a lot of noise its just more then normal.
Thank you for helping me

Hold start when you turn on the ps2. You shouldn't need to disable the chip to go online. Are you trying to go online with a backup'ed game that was not patched with its original disc id?

If you go online with an ORIGINAL (example SOCOM 2 online) the CHIP MUST BE DISABLED to get thru DNA check.
If you play a backup online, the chip must be ON and image must be patched.
Yeah i know its strange, but thats how it works.
I play online everyday so i know how it works

so you're saying just hold start till it begins?
Its for online gaming(killzone) and I heard that you had to turn of the chip for online gaming.
Is there anyway you can go online with copied games? If yes, how do I do that?
An other question: If I rent a game and just copy/clone it onto a dvd +r with my pc (so dvd burner) does the chip play that kinda copies? Or do you have to do something special?

Ok, you probably didn't patch the game. I can't tell you how to do that, you have to search that up yourself.

Um, Just as T07N said, thats odd to have to disable your chip to play an original online, but I guess everything has some qwerks. To update your bios visit www.infinitymod.com and check out the latest news, instructions are in the zip (Your sure its an original and not a clone right??)
As for backing up your originals, you need 3 programs: DVD Decrypter, Disc ID program for your PS2 (like an ISO you have to burn) and IDpatcher. They are all found on this site and google. Burn DiscID off (as long as your console isn't A V12) and boot it in your PS2, it will ask for your original, slap that in and it should show your ID code. Write this down then take your disc and pop it into your computer. Launch DVD Decrypter, under mode select ISO->read (read should be checked) and then basically make sure you have the right drive selected and hit go. It will write the image to your computer. Next launch IDpatcher, select your ISO you just made and enter your DNAS ID number and hit patch. Now change back to DVD Decrypter and change the mode back to write mode and burn the ISO off. Pop it in your PS2 and it should boot. Test online capabilities and it should go online. yay.
Did you test your original online without disabling the chip? Find it weird that you can't play online with originals unless you disable your chip.

it seems u don't read good enough m8ty
check here for new firmware upgrades for your chip
http://www.infinitymod.com/cgi-bin/m...inity_software
this is the latest : INFINITY Firmware Upgrade V1.54
if u want to learn how to upgrade your chip, its very easy, scroll áll the down on that site i just gave u and make sure u have a blank cd-r
SHUTDOWN : Press ánd hold START
Turn on your PS2
Wait till it says : DISABLED
I play Killzone pretty often, and u do not have to turn your chip off.
What u need to do IF u want to play online with a backup, is indeed, like stated above,
PATCH your backup(.ISO) with a a VALID DNAS code.(the one u get from the ORIGINAL game)
make sure u have a PAL PS2 and a PAL version of the game u want to play, or, ofcourse, make sure there both NTSC.
DVD Decrypter is an AWESOME tool for that stuff (R.I.P my dear friend )
and second, use www.google.com, it rocks! look at this, i found it in about 5 seconds:
http://www.ps2nfo.com/on-line.html <--- i know its bad, but it is handy right now.
Good luck

I didn't try to go online with the original one there has been a misunderstanding I'm sorry, I thought you were obliged to shut down the chip because it tells so in the main features part of the mi:"STEALTH-Mode (The Modchip can be switched off and becomes invisible to Online Gaming" That's why I didn't even try to play it because I'm pretty noob at technical stuff and didn't want my chip to crash( This may sound very funny but I didn't want to waste the money I spent on the chip)
I'll try to go online without shutting the chip down as soon as I'm back home and thanx for your help guys, I'm also going to try to do the backupping maybe after a few tries it works
I don't think I've got a clone, I surely don't hope so...
I get the matrix screen on the opening and under the playstation 2 logo there's infinity vx.x so I don't think so?

hehe, well u never know :, i never saw a clone in action, and crashing your chip, that wont happen by just playing online with ur chip on, the only thing that could happen is that your PS2 IP or MAC address gets banned from that netwrok, but even that is easy to fix.
Bout the backupping, u dont even have to try, it will work the first time
just use the ISO READ mode in the 'MODE' setting, put in the game u want to rip, choose location of where u want the ISO, and click DECRYPT .
I will make a video of it, am fkn bored right now anyway
*EDIT*
hehe, well the video is done, but its 388 MB
I should have made a tutorial with pictures

OK, to clear some stuff up.
The thing is, (atleast what i think) is that if you go online with a original game without turning chip OFF, the CHIP dosent patch when the game boots. (or maybe not goto stealth??)
When u log into DNA server, you get the error code that means u have a modchip or cheat device.
If you start a backup, you get another DNA error that says the DNA code is invalid.
If u patch the backup, u get online.
I tried same with ORIGINAL NTSC game, and then i didnt get the "modchip" error, but got "wrong region code" error from DNA server.
So something strange is happening for sure.
I find it so annoying to remember to turn my chip off when i play SOCOM 2 (pal) that i burned a backup so i dont need to turn chip off.
Btw. Socom 2 NTSC and Socom 3 DO NOT WORK WITH BACKUPS.
U get thru DNA server fine, but Zipper made a own check routine and find the modchip/cheat device.
Strange Sony didnt take this routine from Zipper and implement it in standard DNA check, so all backups would be banned.
