NetMech how do you know the chip is a MI clone?
It uses a crystal for its clock signal (like the DMS and Crystal chips), so this alone would imply its not a clone of the MI.

yeah I never thought of that. But would the M3 chip use a real Actel chip instead of something cheaper like the Modbo does?

Because its most likely got half assed "almost" Infinity code and the only way to make it work well was with the added resonator just like the half assed modbo chip, they also use a resonator. But does it really matter? This chip just looks stupid not to mention there slogan/logo is something you would see at a fun house. A mushroom in my PS2?????? I think not!

Assuming that nobody's bothered to mark one Actel chip as another Actel chip (what would the benefit be?), the "Actel chip" (eX) used on the M3 is not the "Actel chip" (ProASIC Plus) used on MI/CC. The architectures are totally different. The eX chips are much smaller, have different logic elements, and are programmed with antifuse connections instead of flash cells.
