Question

Matrix Infinity

http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/di-ps2-minfi
This is the official Matrix team USA re-seller according to their site atleast...

This is the Matix Infinity chip picture and details - It says in the picture it is only for V1-V10.

I was wondering if they make a Matric Infinity chip for V12 slim pstwo - and if anyone knows of a Reliable site to buy one from?

Thanks guys

It is v12 compatible. Its just that they haven't updated them. Make sure you do the summ0ne fix or subzero fix to prevent it from having problems. I would also consider modchipman.com as a good vendor also. The latest firmware is compatible with v12. I hope this help.

I assume those fixes are all on the matrix homepage - BUT it says with this chip you can use that Homebrew stuff - Wich I really don't have any idea how to use but want to learn....Will this also work with my V12?

OOO that might be the firmware you were talking about?

Hehe I am new to the chip scene - like 4 days old

(thanks for the good quick reply though )

Yes, MI does pretty much everything!
The only thing it doesnt do (but may do in the future) is the DNAS passing, but I wouldnt worry about that as you can get round that a more manual way

Ive never had any problems with the MI, but if you are installing in a V12 make sure you install a fix like summ0ne or subzero BEFORE you test the console, otherwise your laser could die

regards,
Danny

Now M.I. orange dot doesn't work at pstwo. There are many people with this problem, so I recommend M.I. blue dot that it works. Maybe the problem is in the firmware o something different.

stick with MI, it's the best
and maybe we'll get a firmware update for the DNAS like the Crystal Chip eh
otherwise there's still a manual way ofcourse

Espen, perhaps something happens like MX4 that have a mistake. Some installers have packs of M.I. orange dot and they doesn't work at PSTWO. At the other versions it works. So be carefully. Matrix team knows this problem.

I should have mentioned that xmodds has done many slim pstwos with the matrix infinity and only a select few have not worked properly, the majority of them are fine.

EMAIL FROM MATRIX TEAM BELOW:

Hi,

sorry for very late reply, but I was out of town for some personal
problems and just come back now.

There is no prolem whatsoever on V12-V13 and orange dot, and guys stating
things like this should have at least the decency to contact us before
spreading false news.

The only issue reported in the last two weeks has been from ONE customer
that receive some Orange Dot Infinity that had the firmware on the
eeprom ruined. He reflashed them using the standard recovery procedure
and all was back to normal.

It might be that the firmware on the eeprom was ruined by static discharge
during the handling of the chips from the reseller to the final customer or
during transport or during installation.

Be sure that if there is any problem with a batch we ALWAYS release the news
into our news section becouse we belive that taking responsability for our
mistakes (when we do them) is part of our work.
This is not the case anyhow as all the orange DOT batches released until
now are perfect.

Best Regards,
The Matrix Team
Luke.

I agree with Luke, he has been incredibly helpful on any issue i have had, definatly talk to him if you have any issues with the MI, but if you have it installed by a good installer you shouldn't have any issues with the chip or install...
