Silver slim ps2 w/ MI black screen but cd spins

I believe the console is a PAL v13 because it has additional components near the summ0ne fix resistors. When I turn on the console I just get a black screen but I can hear the infinity manager cd spin up (v1.54). Another curiosity: I get constant mechacon crashes (i.e. cannot power off by button: must unplug power from the rear). The lens is a SPU wide laser and the only fix I used was a resistance increase to 1200ohm on the dvd pot. Can these symptoms be related? thank you

You didn't apply any fix did you? Right now I'm guessing that your installation is at fault. Can we see the installation?
