Matrix Infinity 1.54 firmware cracked?

I found this Chinse website selling clone modchips http://www.game-messiah3.com/Home.htm has 2 MI clones running 1.54 firmware. Matrix Infinity SE and Modbo 2.0. I don't wether this could be true or not but it's sure interesting news.

Quote:
Updated version of matrix infinity se (old is infinity 1.38, new version is infinity 1.54 which is latest version), include all old version function and add more
New Features and additions:
Auto sleep, longer your console life
All game read directly, no need any swap
Remove updated screen problem (old version will die when updated)
Fixed some issues with a few new games.
Neo Memory card supported

modbo v2.0 fake v1.54?

I was very interesting with the modbo v2.0 with v1.54 firmware chip, I have bought from China 50pcs; yes, the screen showed the "v1.54" after I installed the modbo v2.0 chip, and play games well, I was so happy!!
But I was very surprise, why the modbo v1.2 use the sa25f010 chip, but the modbo v2.0 use the sa25f005 chip, did the size of the chip enough, becasue I know that the sa25f005 has problem for upgrade, so I try to use my upgrade disc (http://www.infinitymod.com/cgi-bin/m...e.pl?page=news ),to upgrade, oh, my god, it can not be reflashed, that make me very despondented, I borrowed a programmer which supports the sa25f005 chip (hi-lo system all-11),When I read out the firmware from the 25f005 chip, and compare with the original firmware from the matrix team,(data.bin, disc root directory of the upgrade disc), really different ones! I also tried to play GT4 double side game, it can not support even GT4 at all.
, those v1.54 is not original v1.54 version from www.infinity-mod.com,and it is not upgradable, it is fake ones!!!!!

Not very surprising since this is coming from a clone maker. Why shouldn't they con you into thinking you're buying you're not getting.

But you should try a few more tests to confirm this. Can you goto the option menu of the chip and see if it got its new cosmetic change?

Thumbs up

fake chip, it is!!!!!!

all chip from China are clone and can not use our newest firmware, those clone chip (from www.modbo.com and www.70kchip.com ) comes with old firmware v1.38, so many new released games can not been supported; those chip use a very cheap low-class MCU IC,and our chip use the actel original CPLD chip, different reliability, we always update the newest firmware through www.infinity-mod.com, our site also show you how to identify the original chip and the clone chip!

yes, we have tested

jejejejejeje, I know it is clone chip, but those guys said that chip use the orginal matrix infinty v1.54 firmware and it is upgradable...so....
yes, I have tested several chips with my 70004, also can enter the option menu, but when press start button, the screen shows "programming, please wait, the screen was freezed;the screen was freezed;
have to reboot the the consoles!
I use the winhex.exe to compare with the firmware (read out from the modbo v2.0)with the one which i downloaded from official site, all different!

data.bin is NOT a firmware dump! The firmware is stored inside the update elf. I made a post a while back that outlined where in the elf the firmware is actually stored (so try searching for my posts if you want to find it)

Test_Modchip, you said the modbo 2.0 could not be updated? Did the chip die, or did the firmware fail to update (and the chip still worked)?

Also, go into the config screen and see if anything is different in the options available on a modbo/infinity 1.38.
