Matrix Infinity stuck on "programming please wait"

I have now seen three posts with regard to Matrix Infinity ( blue dot) having problems with the firware upgrade where people are being presented with the screen which says "Programming please wait".

Having experienced this myself recently, I contacted Infinity Mods to see if they had any ideas as to what the problem may be as I had changed the chip for another on the same wires and it worked without problems.

I then tried the suspect chip with three different consoles and had no luck, it simply would not take the firmware.

Luke at infinity asked if I could try putting a little solder paste on the legs of the eeprom and go over them with the iron as he thought it might be a bad connection.

However I tried this but it still wouldn't work, so I sent it back for replacement.

It would be interesting to see if there are more of these problems, so would invite anyone having the same symptoms to post.

Hi,
I have 3 mods ere with a red dot in the corner. They all have the symptons you mention.
I've tried them in 2 x v12 ps2's. It must be the mods as I tried a blue dot and that programmed fine.
I here ppl mentioning the diode and rewiring from the mod to 5.5v which in the v12's is used by the laser fix (comsoft version 4). I havent tried this as i dont really wanna disconnect the laser fix!
