DMS Hardware v2.0!

The DMS3 team has notified me that they have completed the testing of DMS3 Hardware v2.0. The new hardware defeats the v8 DVD-R check, and fixes disc authentication for incorrectly mastered PS2 discs (some DVD Rips).

There is also new software to be released shortly. Software v1.3 improves disc validation emulation to help hide the chip while running the PS2 in PS2 Mode.

You can view an image of the DMS3 Hardware v2.0

Added by LOD: The DMS3 team also said they are sending samples to PS2NEWZ for testing. We will have full results and pictures soon!

Snoopy007,

Don't think so. Some controls are in the Actel chip and that's not flashable.

Hopefully this V2.0 will be all that and a bag of chips! Looking forward to it.

so basically all this crap about flash upgradable is really for little bugs only.

and major bugs/hardware change still requires a new chips.

I think I'll wait for DMS4 v2.0, but only if it'll be flash upgradable to work with the PS3

DMS3 and SCPH-10000

I bought the v1.0 of DMS3 and installed in my old Japanese SCPH-10000.
It's working fine on PS2 games of all kind of regions...
BUT... when I try to boot a PS1 game with PAL region or NTSC America.... It just stops and the picture stays black.
If I try to boot a japanese PS1 copy, it boots just fine.
Is this some bug in DMS3? I'm using update 1.2 at the moment.
Will 1.3 fix this? Or do I need DMS3 v2.0 for it?

/Daniel

Just a few questions.

Do you have more Infos about this pb with DVD-rips ? Can you give me examples af Games witch dont' work of Freeze ?

I got a V7 and a DMS3 V1 soft 1.2, and I wonder if this is so important to change for a DMS3 V2.

Do you think that this problem (if it exist ???) will be fixed with a soft 1.3 fot DMS3 V1 ??

And if someone have any contact with the DMS3 Team, can you ask to them if they will continue to support people which DMS3 V1 and WHEN they expect to give for user of DMS3 V1 the new version 1.3 ??

ThX.

You may as well stick with your current DMS3, the major advantage the V2 has is that it fixes the V8 DVD-R issue.

Any rips that you find don't work can generally be aquired from a different source or remastered

HELP!

I have a SCPH10000 and just installed the DMS3 v2 chip. i got a black screen the first time i turned the machine on. then took out the mem card, and the thing booted up. Using another machine, the DVD on the memory was erased. this did not make any difference until the other two PS2 system files? was erased. PS2 discs booted ok, PS1 failed with black screen. DVD did not work, it has the DVD player not working message. then i try to download the DVD player from the utility disc back to the machine and it frozed at 3/4 way. now it does not even play anything! it is locked up when i boot it up. on the stealth mode, i am not able to get much further than browsing the system menus. i cant see the memory card now. DAMN! I dont know what else to try now....

Problem solved. one of the wires was found to be crimped up in the machine and thus it was not able to load any disc. Starting the machine in stealth mode, download the dvd drivers from the utility disc. upon reboot, you will get a black screen. i then had to start in stealth mode, go to the memory card and remove two files which are put there together with the DVD driver. not sure what they do, but deleting them allows the machine to boot as normal and allows multi-region dvd now! But, i am still not able to use PS1 disc on the machine, i just get a black screen, anyone encountered this problem?

Did you check point x, ground, and 3.3v wires?

How long is your ground?

i think Guichi mentioned that they are not able to get PS1 games to work with SCPH10000. yup, point X is checked. all you do get is a black screen on bootup. i am not able to get DMS Explorer to work as well.
