Apparently the website www.magiccase.com has begun manufacturing and advertising Flip top clones!! I was forwarded an email by them last night and they are indeed not made by Z's silly cliq and promise improvements to the design and a new Swap magic disc that will support oddball ps2releases and 80 minute games! Looks like Z has finally been given a taste of his own medicine! ROTFLMAO!!

cases look sweet, transparent design is good idea.

the ones z sell suck a bit, got Zon the lid and web urls on the underlid. At least these guys took that out

Sounds nice, but i can't find the nfo on that 80 mins though. Neways, this oughta fuck Z's mind up a bit.

Cool. I've been looking for a new case to brighten up my PS2. I might just get one of these just because it's translucent. If they have a different color (other than smoke) I might add a neon light or LED light's inside to make it glow.

Anyone familiar with electronics know if installing LED's similiar to the one's below is detrimental to the PS2?

i can assure you the magic case isnt in anyway related to Z, if they want to promote MC then there just cutting there own throats.

Is there any disadvantages to using flip top cover?

I read the site and it says no soldering required and it plays all
cd/dvd backups. This sounds to good to be true, whats the catch?

Why go through all the hassle of buying an expensive modchip and soldering if this has the same result with only 5 min installation.

Is this thing for real?
Does it boot games in 1 shot?

nothing really beats a mod, dms3 looks the part but i guess its good if you cant solder.

It doesn't boot everything. Solder mods are better (why else would we go through the trouble)?

Check out this thread and you'll see that Swap Magic doesn't play many of Kal's releases, and probably won't anytime in the near future...

Because I had a swap chip and it took me sometimes 3 tries to boot a CD and it couldn't boot dvdr

Not having actually used swapmagic, I can't speak from experience. But I have read that folks have problems with certain games due to TOC sizes.

Suggest you search the forums...

even gpiong through 2 manufacturers and thousands of people they sill havent realized they only need to undo 6 screws for the case, and the swap magic 2.0 has no 80 min support
