I'd like to say that I was aware through my interaction some weeks ago with Mr. Magic 2, that a late October new standard no-swap mod would be announced. I'm pleased that it's apparently going to happen.

I have also pressed him for a 10000/15000 version and they should have been around a couple of months ago because now those units are nearing the end of their life. Anyway, I've still got two working and 1 dead-ish ......

Interesting,
I suppose there will be a battle between this new magic chip and the (supposed) ntsc messiah.

Either way its a good thing.

Anyone know of any details?
Maybe they made it small enough to fit under the metal plate on v7's?
Maybe its going to be 100% reliable?
Maybe its going to cost 30 bucks?
Maybe it will have no DVD/CD Controler points on v1-v3's?

Well I can hope =)

I'll be happy if:

1) Works 100% with GameSharks
2) Never does movie skipping
3) Does't depend on a Z point for not/working
4) Macrovision OFF
5) Region Free

Hehehehe... Maybe I'm asking too much

Greets!

Yeah, maybe it will also install itself through osmosis! Just set the chip on top of your PS2 and it will do the rest with out damaging your tamper seal and "Be safest solution for you PS2! Enjoy you game!" (We love NasisX)
Yah, this new chip had interests roused. and hopefully it will be at least one of the things that you mentioned Loto_Bak...

Now I know why Cyclone and others have taken so long

If M2 peope can't do it in automatic mode, I'd don't mind if I would have to install a switch to turn those capabilities ON only when I'm going to watch a movie... That could be taken as a last resort

Greets!

I believe the new magic chip will have better Region free and no macrovision, it will be one chip compatible with all models, and less solder points

Personally, I think that the new Magic chip should have a feature that kicks the everloving shit out of people who fail fo follow instructions and troubleshooting guides. (plug for Charlie) No matter what this chip offers in future releases, these forums are still going to be FLOODED with posts about people who botched thier install because they thought they could do it themselves without the help of a professional. But thats just my 2 cents...
(K Charlie, if you need my shipping address I would be happy to accept any modchip donations to -
A. Prove your point right
B. Help pay for my time in 'advertising costs' i.e the shameless plug that I just gave you here
C. Because I am such a swell guy and you know as well as I do that life wouldnt be as interesting without me.
D. Ummmmmmmm.... Heh Heh Heh

When you see people not being able to handle the no-solder install, just be glad they didnt try to do a neo4... Remember, everyone was a noob at one time or another
