that guide can help you convert to dvd5 i think this game just has a false lba as i rebuilt it and it was only like 4gb's.

The japanese version of this game was on 2 dvd5s while the US version is on a dvd9 so I think it has alot of stuff crammed in on it to make a friendly dvd5 without ripping fmvs that are crucial to the story.

This game works fine off hdl without any need to fiddle with the modes.

HI,

Just to report that I just installed the full DVD9 ISO to hdloader using only HDL Dumb and it worked perfectly on HDL 0.8C. Although I've only played it less an hour...

the game is a DVD9 game for USA and EUR... JAP is 2 dvd5 discs...

the game is actually larger than 4gb... to be exact... its 7.62GB... i've extracted both layers with apache2 ... total comes to 44 unique files... :x

well there seems no way to convert to dvd5 unless someone posts the proper tools to rip out some fmv sequences.... there is a thought though... if someone has a jap version of the game with the 2 discs.. if they can share backups of them.. maybe someone can see if they can split the new dvd9 version back into 2 dvd5 discs.. the game is essentially the same.. nothing has changed except for the translations and the added subs...

i burned the game to dvd9 sucessfully..patched it with ffgriever's tool and it runs... but i forget what chapter i am on.. i think its ch 10.. but the game does not continue because i get an error saying... "Cannot Open File 0GREV01..." i might use another disc later and burn and see if i can get it to work...

Give it time as always with new DVD9 games and I am sure gnie or someone else there will come up with a plugin or ripkit for it at alucard.cc/forums.

Actually after I typed this I went there to check.
Here is topic thread

tonight i plan to rebuild the DVD9 iso into a single DVD5 to see if it loads properly through HDL...

im following this tutorial
http://www.exploitstation.com/articles/dvd9single.php

if it works.. i'll let you guys now... if this does get me past that error... i probably won't be burning the game on another disc

i have tried following the afterdawn guide you posted but the game doesn't even start... i gets the "playstation 2" logo then the game seems to load but freeze with a black screen... i have tried following the procedure twice both times, both times trying to follow the same order (well they are arranged in alphabetical order anyway) in both programs... i would be happy with a single layer version too... i have the dual layer one but since my ps2 is pretty old it takes a miracle for it to start (though if it ever start then it proceed without problems) so even a single layer version to use as a startup would be good enough
