in kingdom hearts 2, the game would lock up if you're running it from a hard drive and entered a gummi ship mission. they're needed each time you want to go to a new world.

the patch just unlocks all the worlds so that you don't have to do the missions to access them.

i wouldnt call this a proper patch, it is more of a cheat that works around the problem

is there a patch around to fix the weird graphics problem in 2nd entering to hollow bastion? the graphics just go scrambled and cant go anywhere (not even to world menu since save point is not accessible)

I think they have and still run into the problem of the BSOD on the gummy ship missions.

your patch only solves the hd loader problem until you get to hollow bastion then you end up stuck in a place where you go through walls and fall into a big blue abyss...watch the video it's only 26 seconds long but you get the idea: TAGS: hd loader hdloader hollowbastion hollow bastion graphic glitch

then download a copy of codebreaker 9.2 ELF
(thats right a codebreaker app elf file cheat device for the ps2)
(you don't even need to buy a codebreaker device just use the elf file)

(please leech download or whatever you have to do with this file just keep reposting it i've wondered on the net and found out alot of people have the same problem) extract the elf file from the rar archive you downloaded and save the elf file on a memstick any old one would do you don't have to format it... take the memstick and connect it to the usb port on your ps2 boot elf explorer and go to the mass storage drive which is your memstick open your elf file and now your in code breaker program this does not have Kingdom Hearts 2 saved in it's code list so your going have to create a new game entry in the code list call it kingdom hearts 2 or KH2 whatever...next input

(this code is set to marketplace in hollowbastion)
YY - means room digits
XX - means world digits

after putting in the code select it and start your game

load your saved file and whereever you are just before you go through a door or to the next area in the world your in just hold down R2 and shazaam your in hollow bastion but it's not what its supposed to be.........that's OK!!!...because all you have to do is goto the next area like the borough and yank out your memstick the code is no longer in effect so go back to marketplace and the story will continue on as if your playing the game from the actual disk...cool huh......and after all the posts i read on people requesting KH2 patches for this glitch...hahaha!!!!

What you describe here is simply not possible. Yanking out the memstick from the USB port will not have any effect on the codes being used by CodeBreaker. Going to the next area should have some effect, but the memstick is completely irrelevant. It ceased to participate in events as soon as you launched the game.

I can't try it yet, but many people is going to be very happy.
Now I have one question: could a ppf patch be done from those codes in order to avoid the codebreaker step? Or it wouldn't work (in case the codes corrupt anything else if they are applied from the beginning)?

Apparently it will take a long time for me to test raptorsin's cheat code, as I just discovered that the only saves I have for KH2 UK are one from way before getting the gummi ship, plus two others after first arrival at hollow bastion. I'd appreciate if someone could post a save more suitable for testing with.

Btw:
It should be noted that this cheat code will probably not work as-is on any other version of KH2 than the one for UK (SLES_541.14). Other versions will need to have the code translated.

Hres couple of saves, occupying slot 1 and 2 when copied to memorycard back, by the means of ulaunchelf or anything else. So make back up of your saves prior if you want to continue your personal story after testings. These are for UK version, and no they wont work on NTSC if copied directly, need to sort CRC or something prior, otherwise you will just get game is corrupted ingame. I'm not a tech geek or anything here, so I couldnt manage that one out myself here. (the 1st save is directly before 2nd entering to hollow bastion, so you will get thrown into villains vale debug room when entering w/o codes and playing from hd). Enough with the babble now, have fun with the saves if you find them of any use.

That's always good advice, but I'm all set when it comes to backup. (I should be, since I invented psuPaste for uLE.)

Yes I know, but since I'm a swede it's the UK version I have installed on hdd. I did have lots of other versions installed too for a while though, when I was testing my releases for the 'unlock worlds' stuff.

Like the title says, I have now tested the code extensively, pressing R2 while walking through all kinds of doors, but it has never had the claimed effect of transporting me to the marketplace in Hollow Bastion. All effects have remained exactly as when I did not have this cheat code.

I have double-checked that the code was active for these tests and that the code lines were input exactly as specified in raptorsin's post.

My only conclusion is that this is either a hoax or a mistype/mistake by raptorsin.
I hope for the latter, since we need this fix, but I'm getting doubtful...

Edit: Actually it may be a mistake of my own, confusing the master codes. Perhaps this patch really is for the US version, in which case my tests need to be repeated.

Edit 2: My mistake is confirmed. This cheat code is indeed for the US version.

I've now reinstalled US KH2 and tested that the new code does work with it, transporting you to "Hollow Bastion:Marketplace". But there are still many tests to make to see if this really eliminates all complications.

Using the code early in the game is probably not advisable, since it could confuse the game engine's event system. I tried it as Roxas, and had to try fighting nobodies with a 'struggle' bat (which had no effect on them except as a parry).

And what happens apart from the transportation of Sora and friends ?
Such as: Where is the gummi ship? Does it follow Sora regardless ?
It's not very useful to be in Hollow Bastion if the gummi ship is not...
