You have to use a special patched HDL for Slim support! Without this patch you will be asked to format every time you reset your ps2. Try using the right hdl first.

Hello, Can someone clear this up for me first off dose it matter what chip you install in the hdcombo? reason I ask is the matrix chip dose not work with with the hdcombo by installing game from the ps2 is this true, Second I have a dms 4 pro SE and it works fine by installing games from the ps2 with the HDCOMBO so dose the SE chip make a difference in having a regular DMS 4 Pro chip? Why dose it work by installing games for the PS2 with the HDcombo but not the HDConnect? they both have the same points?!

You have posted this twice in two different threads and emailed me all in the span of 30 minute. EDIT: 19 minutes!Dont be so overzealous.

Anyway ......

The MI works wonderfully with HD-Combo. You dont need to use DMS4's shitty chips just to play games from an HDD on a PS2 or a PSTwo. HDLoader can be used with any chip but is best when used with the Crystal Chips or the Matrix Infinity (in my opinion). Its recommended to use winhiip or hdl_dump to install your games to your HDD regardless of if you have HD-Connect or HD-Combo. Although I have seen better results when installing back-ups to the HDD with HD-Combo and I can only associate the reason for this because of the very well grounded HD-Combo. Lastly no the DMS4 Pro is the same as the DMS4 Pro SE, they both use the same flash, only hardware changes were made to the SE.

Yes however you may get mixed results. Like I stated its best to use winhiip or hdl_dump.

I would think so. It doent change anything but make the bottom half of the case longer. All the mounting holes are still all the same. But I also have not seen how those LCD's mount up so I cant say for sure and a pic would be great. Achieving 15 posts shouldnt be difficult .... but if you want a short cut just make it look like w w w.whatever.com

>_< I can't find this anywhere except divineo. I don't want to pay $65+$20 for shipping. Can someone point me to any other site besides divineo that sells this? Thanks.

It looks like it should fit. Do you have pics of the screen not attached to the console, you know ... where it hooks up to the console.

I just recieved a failed attempted hdcombo console it works and everything but im trying to see if i cant fix the problem, they guy who previously owned it removed all the solder from these points:

I took a broken v12 and removed the ic chip that is located above the points (shown in pic) and found some corresponding via points that have continuity with the
damaged points, but the corresponding points on the other side of the board dont have any. Does anybody know of any alternate points?

I presume I must use patched HD Loader to get this disk working. But what about Linux Kit, PSBBN and other programs? Will they with HD Combo?

I have a model PS2 Model 70000 and converted to HDCOMBO with Mod Chip Matrix Infinity V1.54 . My problem is How to install HDloader in HDCOMBO. Actually I tried to format the hardisk using my hdloader , format failed. I tried using DEV2 to install a bootelf , bootelf modified by HdlGui with I put check in the box V11 / V12 , failed to install the bootelf then i reset and ask to format i try to format , format failed and i reset again error code appear on the screen (error 100 ) . I tried to format in Winhip format succesfull and i put my hardisk to old model Ps2 with network adaptor and installing the bootelf. the bootelf was succesfully installed and work good ....
