my Console SCPH 70000 will work? and I think should have circuit for HDD 2.5 notebook
and my friend console SCPH 75000 it never use this circuit modify it not impossible ?

SCPH 70000 is either v12 or v13, so that should work fine. Whether you use a 2.5" HDD or a 3.5" HDD doesn't really matter, as long as they use normal ATA IDE interface, and you use appropriate connector adaptors. The important thing to remember is that SATA drives are impossible to use, so don't buy one of those for your PSTwo.

SCPH 75000 is v14, and I'm not sure if those can work with an IDE HDD. In some recent model Sony removed some integrated circuit needed for HDD, and I'm not sure if that was just for v15 and later, or also for v14.

If that IC is missing from your friend's PSTwo, then I'm afraid there's nothing to do about it. As far as I know only Sony make those ICs and they don't sell them to the general public.

I have v12 PStwo can someone please tell me all i would need to use a laptop hard disk. Would i still use a IDE cable and how would I power it. I'd appreciate the assistance. If i could get it to work with a laptop HD I would be able to build a container to house it.

have a ps2 v13 moded with modbo 760. i connected the hdd on the board, like in the pictures from automan. my problem is that none of the hdloader;s work, and believe me i tried almost everyone. some versions say it doesnt detect the hdd , some say its not formatted, and when i try to format it says format failed. i even found a version of hdl that detects the hdd , and even make a image file on it from a cd, but this version is hdl 0.7 so it asks for format everytime i restart. IMPORTANT: when i soldered the wires to the board somehow i desoldered this resistor (SEE ATACHMENT ) and i lost it cause it is so tiny , can u tell me what it is ? cause maybe that is the problem . can someone measure it for me and find out what it is (resistor ,capacitor) so i can replace it ? or even try desoldering it and see if hdloader works after that ??? cause i think thats the problem ... by the way i even tried different harddisks (Hitachi and seagate) so the problem is not the HDD. the wire at the missing resistor was soldered where the yellow arrow points.

Hi everybody. I am asking whether I can install a 2,5" HDD into my broken DVD player so that I could watch movies because my DVD laser is broken. I ama sking Automan about the V12 PS2 mod, whether its possible to watch DVD ripped movies from that HDD which he connected to the PS2. My Idea is to detect the right pins using the schematics of Yamada Divx 6600 and to attach the same HDD? Thankk you!!!
