Request.

Could someone make a PSV of FMCB? I don't have any kind of way to boot burned discs from my PS2, but I can copy to my memory cards via my Ps3 with PSV files.

I don't even know if it's possible, if it isn't I'm sorry for making this thread.
I've been searching for a PSV file of FMCB for a while now and still haven't found one so I'm kind of desperate at this point.

Thanks.

does not work that way. the fmcb installer gets the memory card ID number directly form the physical MC. That means if it's installed on a memory card, that file that is on that MC will NOT work on another memory card if it is copied in any form or fashion.

why can't some people spend a small amount of money on a used AR Max, and a small usb stick.

I do have a USB stick, I just lack the means to make my PS2 read burned discs.
And cheat devices are kind of hard to find around here, so I was looking for another way. I'll just have to buy one online.

Thanks for the info.

we could have somebody reliable run this kind of service via auction sites for small fees. this would be a pretty organized and more secure way of doing this.

I don't think it would be a good ideea! At least I would not pay just to do a favor to some kid that doesn't understand how to install FMCB (or doesn't have how to install it)!

i'm confused by what you wrote just now. what did you mean by that?

we could use somebody reliable (trustworthy might be a better word to describe it) who would provide cheap service on auction sites for installing fmb on the memcard and ship it back. auction costs might be low enough to just cover the shipping costs for memcard. i would not object if that person would make little money from this, but only if it would not be a rip-off.

He obviously meant "charge" rather than "pay".

IMO one of the main points of having people volunteer to do it free of any charge (apart from postage) is to minimize the risk of profiteers. But as soon as profits are involved, it's just a question of time before someone tries to abuse the system. But that will probably happen anyway, regardless of what we do, though hopefully it won't involve this site and the services offered here.

Best regards: dlanor

Thanks for the offer dangwoot but sadly I'm Canadian.
And to be honest, I have NO idea how to ship things outside the province of Quebec.

I'd also rather have a way to install it myself in case something wrong happens to my memory card (corruption, loss, etc) after getting it back.

Now I'm looking for a trustworthy online e-tailer that ships to Canada for the Magic Swap disks (seems to be the easiest way to install FMCB, correct me if I'm wrong).
I found Go CyberShop and Modchip.ca so far but any other suggestions are welcome.

BTW, thanks for not burning me to the ground for such a thread, this kinda surprised me considering I've just registered.

Hey Excelsis,

I would vouch for Go Cyber Shop! That's where I ordered my Swap Discs (3.8 with the slide tool to be exact) and I got it in about 2 weeks (kinda long...but hey at least I got it! ) But I think Dangwoot's recommendation is also reliable as well, I guess the decision is really up to you!

Right after I received my discs, I installed Free MC Boot without a hitch! It took me about 2 minutes using the discs. LoL Good luck!
