He was not speaking of any specific console there, but giving a generic example for how to get a DVDELF.BIN from a 5000x console for use on a 7700x console. He just happened to use '6' as the final digit in that example. Also, what he is speaking of there would not help in any way to solve your problem, especially since it is a 50006 console you have, so that already contains the file he spoke of.

Your problem is of a different nature, in that some assumptions the installer makes about your region are false. There is NO known way for you to get around this with current tools.

page 7 there is also a user of the same as my console the name was yrrah, post #175
That post is more interesting, as it refers to a real console which a user was able to boot with FMCB-like methods after using Neme's embedding tool.

But be aware that this is NOT the same thing as the standard FMCB release, and requires a lot more know-how to get everything right.

I honestly think you are better off waiting for a new release that may fix your problem, and your part in helping this to happen ASAP is to supply Jimmi with a dump of your rom, like he asked for several posts ago.

We who don't have that console model can't help you with its specific details.

For that you should contact the other users who do have it. Try sending "yrrah" a PM, if you want to try the same method he used, as only he can describe exactly what he did.

lol...you were already given kindly advice.....make a dump of your Rom with the app bootleg provided and PM it to jimmi.

There isnt anything else we can do to help fix the issue until you do. You can try the other user like dlanor said, but in the end it doesnt "fix" the problem, only works around it.....if it in fact worked for him.

Just an update guys. I have the same console as artdevil and what i did was copy my BIEXEC-SYSTEM folder to my flashdrive via ulaunchelf and copied the contents of the folder to a BAEXEC-SYSTEM one, then transferred it back to my memory card. So now i have both of them there. So i deleted the BIEXEC-SYSTEM folder via ulaunchelf and then it worked. I'll try to dump my bios and pm it also to jimmi or bootlegninja so that they can compare mine with artdevil's.

By the way, before i actually got it to work i was playing around with ulaunchelf. I was playing around with filebrowser and i went in the MISC folder where I found stuffs like PS2BROWSER, PS2DISC and the likes where i could run them from there. Nothing just wanted to let you all know what i did.

May I ask you something, Is your sony 8mb memory card is really original? Is there a magicgate printed on it? Bcoz mine i have 3 sony 8mb (w/magicgate) i purchased last 2003 made in china & japan work perfectly with FMCB. I have also sony 16 & 32 mb (no magicgate) but they said its original, but made in china, FMCB doesnt worked & the problem is the same of yours.

I'm glad for you.
So you have no need to rename your BIEXEC-SYSTEM folder right ?

He may or may not have had that need (seems a bit iffy getting details from him), but we still definitely have the need to find out what is going on with the xx006 consoles.

Hopefully other users with such consoles can also help out (yogurt23? hackoba?), both with the rom dump you wanted (unless artdevil finally sent one to you) and with further installation testing. We need to get to the point where a standard installer can do the job without any 'external' trickery. This is especially true for slim consoles where users can't rely on the old exploit to boot uLE (to use for moving/renaming stuff).

Best regards: dlanor

artdevil have sended me is rom dump.

So seems on x0006 it's working differently...
His romver file contain "H".
His eromdrv file contain "J".
But he must use DVDPLA that seems to contain "U".

So if custom dvdelf is not used for injection it read the letter in dvdelf from his erom were it gets "J" (probably as it's what is used to naming the folder).
Using the dvdpla where it finds "U" make it naming the folder BAEXEC, and then it works...

If i'm right the conclusion is that it can decrypt several MagicGate region (U and J), but the folder must be named BAEXEC-SYSTEM like for U region...

Another report :

As usual, none of this worked here, reading the Oliveira files he say that China/Hong Kong models are DVD region 6, i tried and fail to generate the mcid.bin.
I was reading the PS2 manual for my model HK SCPH-90006 and figure out that the DVD Region for this model is 3 and not 6 (i've said before that this model are strange )

Using the DVDPLA file work it fine, got the MCID.bin (the same that i've got before).

Now i'm moving to get the other files, i will keep you posted.

In that case, remember to generate different default values for the CNF file depending on the console type, and also to use similarily different default values for that CNF variable when no CNF file is found at boot, to ensure that normal users whose TV sets do match the console always have a visible picture.

A V-Mode for what?
FMCB-logo (so when it starts/power-on or "gets started"/OSD-rejecting by the hacked OSD)?
...or for PS2-/Homebrew-Mode and OSD?

Since the guy's TV only handles NTSC, he obviously wants that mode globally enforced if at all possible. But unfortunately I don't think there's any way of doing that, so he'll have to settle for what Jimmi can do. The splash screen can definitely be setup with a user defined mode, but it is doubtful to me if it can also be done for the OSDSYS menu. And doing it globally for all applications is definitely impossible.

I think, it might be possible for all "apps" that start directly through the FMCB-Core.
That means it should be possible for the ELFs, started through OSD, and even for the ps2-games (maybe even DVD-Video, but that is harder to realize in my opinion.).

I agree with you, that it is practically impossible (or even hard) to force it globally to all further started ELFs, that not start directly through the FMCB-Core.

The OSD-V-Mode force might work this way(s),...

-Sending an arg, which forces the V-Mode, but I doubt there are any,... (...if that sentence was spelled wrong,... another one: "I don't think, that there is an arg to define it, so this way shouldn't be possible,...")

2nd way:

-An OSD-Hack. It might not be possible, but I trust in Neme's skills.

Why shouldn't he find a patch-location where OSD forces, or even "get" the V-Mode? I believe, he can.

For the vmode I was just talking of the FMCB and loading logos...

But I think it's maybe possible to force OSDSYS to use a video mode.
We may need to find by looking at SetGsCrt calls the struct it use and replace it by a new one.

when i add the DVDELF.BIN the FMCB works.. but if i didn't add DVDELF.BIN the FMCB is not working at all....

it is possible to directly boot the HDLOADER in the FMCB like the modechip can do?
