I thought, UK was MG(Region)3/SCPH-xxxx3?
The rest of Europe has MG(R.)4 (to shorten it,...)

err... yeah... what utter fools would do something like that... seriously though, you'd be surprised how much help some people need. there's deffinately a place for sales of some stuff for others with no other options. I spent $30 on an AR max disc so anything cheaper would've been fine. now if only there was someone offering card services in the UK...
|
See, the new license,... It is forbidden, to sell it with a commercial background,...
So, that's why this should be a Free-Offer,...
If a user wants to spend some Extra-Dollars/Euro/... to the one who installed it, it is their choice,...
Btw.: This is a one-way install (just pay the postage),...
Those who sell it complete, (even if it is 20$) can't guarantee that it works with your PS2 and/or MC.
If you delete it, you must send your MC again and those people must re-install it again,...
That will lead into more mess,...
Most people don't have the knowledge, to only get the hardware-id of the mc, so they can't say, it is the same and "repair".
Also this is Open-Source, so a "free-offer" is the best, it could be.

I am in Australia with a PAL ps2, dangwoot told me I need someone from my region to do the install, does this mean that I will need specifically pepsi_max2k to do it since he is in europe? Or do I have to find someone who is actually in australia too?

Since yours is an Aussie PS2, you need an Aussie PS2 for the install, so if one of the volunteers has a PS2 of your region, they can do it. If they don't, then you are definately gong to have to find someone local if you can't do the install.

Bummer, I take it then that none of the volunteers on the list has access to an Australian PS2?
Does anybody know of anywhere else I might be able to find people who are offering this kind of service, or what kind of things would be required for someone else to do it?

There are quite a few Aussie users on maxconsole forums, that also use memor32.
You could start a post on there and ask or I can if you want.

That last is all well, but if you want to do it like dangwoot and others have, and get added to the list of service providers in the first post of this thread, then you need to say so explicitly. Then I or some other moderator can add you to that list.
Btw: By "northwest region" I assume you really meant "northwest region of the USA".
(This world has many different "northwest regions", depending on your location )
Best regards: dlanor

Yeah, forums have basically been around since the WWW launched in the early 90s.
I'd like to thank those who are doing this. I've not used their services myself, but anything that helps those who can't install this stuff is wonderful.

Communication-Platforms like these forums did even exist before the www opens.
Remember the Use-Net. But that's a bit OT.
I hope for reports about trusted people.

I could volunteer for this service. Though I could only cover USA. No where else. Er... Well, whomever has an NTSC console, I guess.
If there's no more volunteer positions, then alright. Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in.

All volunteer's are acceptable.....lol..........its not a 'one person' position like at a job. The NTSC region for North America is The USA and Canada. Both are very big and can use as many people as possible.
Just put your State / Province and how big an area your willing to cover and a Moderator will add you to the First post as a volunteer.
