I think someone mentioned .SFD files on this thread. These are Sofdec movies, video are in the native format for the console (in the PS2 case MPEG-2 VOB) and sound is ADX compressed. This format was originally developed by CRI/SEGA in 1997 for the Saturn. Was used also on the Dreamcast and now is a common product available for all game platforms.
Now what's of interest: Ripkits might contain tools to edit, decompile/recompile sofdec movies and adx soundtracks.
