Game is working with hdl0.7c no modes. Strange because the first one, Taito Memories froze at the clock screen.

After surfing the net a while i found this; there's an English patch translation for Taito Memories Joukan and Taito Memories Gekan made by Fernando (who also made the English translation patch for WE9). I rebuilded both the iso's with the patched file (SLPM_xxx.xx) and after that the main menu's are in English. For Joukan to work on hdl, select modes 1 and 3 and skip the intro movie (clocks), if not it hangs. Unfortunately music won't work in Joukan, games are playable with sound.

Oh, and for Joukan....those modes aren't needed. I tried it without any modes and it worked the same (press start quickly, and no music)
