Suikoden V freezes up

I know this game is well documented that it works with the Soul Calibur 2 patch, the thing is that the game oftenly freezen on my console, and it also happened when I played off the DVD
also, in the part where Sialeed dies the sound gets ahead of the display (it freezes for half a second, but the sound keeps going)
any one had this problem, too? any clue why's this?

I have a V5 PS2 modded with a Magic 3 and an 80 gig Samsung HDD

1. I was planning to play this, so whoever Sialeed is, now I know he/she dies...THANX dude

2.If it hangs at the same point off DVD and HDD, then it's the iso

3. You did not say what version (PAL or NTSC).

4. PAL does not work with SC/Suikoden V setting in HDL....freezes after a while

1- sorry about that, I was basing the question on ppl already finishd the game
2- it does'n hang on the same point, if freezes randomly, even in the middle of something, not while loading
3- it's a US/NTSC game, and I already finished it once, but am getting ALL the 108 stars this time round, but freezing is really bugging, since its been happening more often lately
4- I believe the answer for 3 aplies here also
