I just left my PAL copy unpatched after I tried unsuccessfully a few times but it did work on my NTSC TV and PS2 only with no colors. Now that both PAL and NTSC versions are out, take your pick instead of patching. Cheers
Battlefront 2 B.S.O.D. fix
Battlefront 2 B.S.O.D. fix –
You will need ISOBUSTER, CDGENPS2;

2. Open the SYS.CNF with notepad, change "SLUS_212.40" to "SWBFRNT2.ELF", save changes. 3. Open CDGENPS2, click advanced, import tree file from isobuster, import ordering by LBA(no fix), click Vol, rename to original disk title"1_01"(this step might not be neccessary), click IMG, name game to whatever you want, but save as file type ISO. 4. Transfer shrunken ISO(2.57 GB) with WINHIIP. When transferring, edit the image settings as follows: select DVD instead of CD, enable mode 3, and change the boot file from "SLUS_212.40" to "SWBFRNT2.ELF".
This will give you a working game from hard drive only! It is also shrunken in size to ~2.5 GB's because you only need the ISO layer from the original. This is pretty much the same workaround others came up with to make the first Battlefront work. I first tried tranferring the whole original ISO with winhiip and choosing the correct boot file with winhiip, it didn't work until I edited the SYS.CNF for some reason...

Hi Chad Edward,
Thanks for the guide.
I was able to follow your guide. The only change was that in the SYSTEM.CNF the I changed the 'SLES_535.01' instead of 'SLUS_212.40'. However I still changed it to 'SWBFRNT2.ELF'.
My problem is that I do not use WINHIIP for different reasons. I usually burn the ISO to a DVD and then use the DVD and HDLoader to put the ISO on the Harddrive.
So I burned this ISO to a DVD however HDLoader would not accept this DVD and I kept getting the message that this is not a valid PS2 disc. Can anyone give me any instructions on how to burn this file to DVD, so I can transfer it to the harddrive.
I don't think you can do that...I know you can't do that with the shrunken game, it will only work off of HD, won't be recognized as valid ps2 game disk otherwise. As far as I know to make it work you MUST use winhiip or similar program to send it to you HD so you can also specify the boot file for hdloader. Could be wrong though...anyone else?

I'm really clueless here. Could someone give detailed instructions as to what exactly I'm doing when I'm rebuilding the ISO and changing this boot file? Thanks in advance.
