Thought it might be a good idea to get this started...I know you shouldn't assume, but I'm assuming it won't work(because of the first one). Agree or disagree?

the first one worked fine, you just had to specify the elf file to load.

Sure, we know that now. For most people using hdl, this was a nightmare to actually accomplish also. I think I ended up reading about 40 or so pages in threads on the subject and it took me about two weeks to get it to work...

Its not that hard just extract the ISO to a temp folder. Look for the System file and open it up in notepad or another text editor. Replace the Boot 2 ELF file from SLES_535.01;1 to SWBFRNT2.ELF;1, close and click yes to save the file. Then rebuild the ISO and load it on your HDL and, select mode 3 in this case, you're good to go.

Just change the Boot File in WinHIIP or HdlDumb to SWBFRNT2.ELF, no iso rebuilding needed.

Boot file in WinHIIP? So I don't needto mess around with HDLoader/Advance? I wasn't around when you guys were getting Battlefront to work, so excuse my ignorance. I'd like to play Battlefront 2 off the HDD, so could someone explain how to do so?

Actually I tried to change the boot file to SWBFRNT2.ELF in WinHIIP 1.7.3 and it didn't work with either mode 3 or no mode. Kwik, can you tell me more details about how you successfully did this?

i rebuilded the iso and changed the bootfile etc. the game loads fine on my ps2 now. im using 0.7c + mode 3. but i have the pal version with ntsc ps2. so i get the black and white screen with flickers

how would i convert this game to ntsc? i tried the pal2ntsc y-fix 48 method. when it patched the iso it seemed to have patched the swbfront2.elf. as a result the game does not boot up on my hd no more. anyone know a workaround for this besides getting the ntsc version

The patcher doesn't work right. When patching the .elf file, make sure you check the box at the bottom of the patch screen called PN Selector. This will bring up a menu after you boot the game, asking which mode you want to run (PAL< NTSC> or NTSC with Y FIX) choose NTSC. Mine boots up fine this way. If only someone could figure out how to get the Y Fix to work. The bottom of the screen is chopped and makes multiplayer split screen unplayable.

    HI,

I have a temp folder with the files and I have changed the System file and now I need to re-build the ISO.

What software can I use to do this, and could someone give me a few simple instructions.
