Possible Xenosaga II Fix?

Hi Guys!

I do not know if it really will work, and if someone tried this before..

I made a copy of Xenosaga II Disk 1 (US, Original), extracted the files
with Apache 2, swapped the CDVDSTM.IRX in the IOP dir for the one
that comes with Rogue Galaxy, made an iml file with CD-DVD Gen
and rebuild the ISO with Gnies IML2ISO.

Played for about 3 hours now, and not a single freeze :-)

I know, that doesn't mean much (freezing could still occour), but maybe
someone wants to test it out, who has a savegame at a point where
the game freezes quite often.

btw: Hardware used: PS2 v7, Matrox 120GB, HDloader 0.8b fully patched

so how did it turn out? could you finish the game without freezes?

Is there anyone who can be certifying this or try this method?

If this works, then I will buy Rogue Galaxy to try this method.

I believe he means he will buy RG just to pull the CDVDSTM.IRX file from it for Xenosaga II.

:-( Bad news.... worked for some hoers (don't have much time to play right now)

But now it still freezes randomly....

@vegeta: you got it right...I took the CDVDSTM.IRX from Rogue Galaxy
(which works) and replaced the one that came with Xenosaga 2.

more stable...but not stable enough!
