Now that we are able to play Shadow of the Colossus & LIberty City Stories off of our HDDs, I wonder what other games will now be compatible, like Jak 3 for example?
Or maybe there is a currently up to date HDLoader compatibility list?

Jak 3 already had a patch a long time ago. I dunno if they have implemented it in this new release of HDL.

    Nice job out there BTW!

i thought someone would misunderstand me after i wrote that...

i am just a very dis-satisfied dms 3 owner. they convinced a ton of people to buy a product based on the freeware community then turn around a release a proprietary Software based chip soon after. they honestly expect us DMS 3 owners to Re-Chip their ps2's!!!

then when you ask about every new game thats no longer compatible, you always get some lamer who has to say....

"Dont be Cheap, Buy a DMS4 because ToxicOS is constantly being updated(laugh,) and besides HDL is dead!!!!"

If the PS2 wasn't so close to the end of it's life cycle, i am sure DMS would release a DMS 5 pro +++ model, and leave all the dms 4 owners behind like they did with their original consumer base.

if DMS was smart they would buy out CrazyC and Zero-X just like they did with Sjeep.

I see your point Luvgunn...but again...everything is about economics. Of course DMS is going to release a new chip, and of course they are going to put some "incentives" to get people to buy them. It sucks...but that is how things are when money is involved.

That being said...HDL rocks. I am so thankful for the efforts put forth on the new versions.

I know what you are saying, but unless you are licensed by sony to distribute software, you are just plain scum for charging for it.

the phrase "use at your own risk!" should not be considered upon buying software, and the only selling point to DMS4 IS ToxicOS.

then lets stop for a minute to take a look at another homebrew mod community.

the XBOX would be the most obvious. Despite the fact that there are tons of mods out there, with tons of software and firmware tied in, it is still uniform in standard. meaning a lowly softmod user has the same usability as a Xecuter3 owner. (high end chip)

meanwhile there is accually software worth paying for in the form of "Xbox Media Center" (Sourceforges 2005 best open source project) which is more compatable then 98% of media players for the pc. meanwhile the project is completly open source and Free. If this was released intead of XBox media extender, it may have been successful. funny part is that xbox homebrew is about a hundred times more stable and reliable (yes due to leaked SDKs) yet still no one has ever charged a dime for it, meanwhile DMS as a company has been using unreliable software (created by homebrew libraries) to fuel there sales, and most people think it's just life.

anyway let me end this rant with the point that homebrew ideology is about as far away from cash grabbing gluttons as you can get.

http://www.ps2newz.net/forums/showpo...&postcount=841. Since I wrote that I have seen a memory dump of the IOP while Toxic .3 was running, but the influence it's had on the patches I've written (other then DVD9 installer, which I only wrote a patch for) has been minimal to none. So don't start spreading that rumor.
