Hello. I know how to shrink games. I successfully shrunk down a lot using various methods. No matter what I try for these 2 games though they dont work.
I patched Jak 3 with the PPF fix afterwards and am turning on the right modes in the compatibility menu and they still dont work.
Jak 2 seems to work fine though with the files removed.
Is there something special that has to be done to get these games to work?
How did you do it if you have it working?
Thanks a lot.

Well I am not completely sure if it will work this way but if you just replace the language files with a smaller file with the same name it should work. I know that some games are stubborn so when you delete the files it doesn't work but if you replace them it does. Give that a try, but again I am not 100% sure it will work.

I have Jak3 PAL shrinked on my HD and it works perfectly. Replaced the language files with small .txts as usual.
Didn't need to bother with LBA and so, just replaced the files with UltraISO (or ISOBuster, don't remember now...) and it worked.

I've tried just switching out the files with dummy files and I've tried the LBA sorting methods. Neither has worked. I've tested the full game and that always works.
Is there something different about these games?

can you run jak normally before shrinking? (I know it sounds stupid, but you may need to fiddle with the options in HDLoader lol)

i've had cdgen build an iml file of the game and then transfered that using hdl_dump. That didn't work either
