Newbie question about HD loader

hi

im new to this and recently i bought a HD Advance 3.0 and HDD combo off ebay , and using winhiip to transfer files and all works ok

but ive been reading threads about mdma patches umda patches and elf files but i havnt got a clue what these are

i have just been reading a thread on here about a download patch installer but it says it dosnt work with HD Advance , TBH i didnt do much research before i bought HD Advance and it looks like HDLoader is a better option but how can i start using HD Loader instead of HD Advance ? would i have to get rid of all my games (about 170GB's worth) and start fresh with HDLoader ?

i also have a NTSC copy soul calibur 3 and noticed on the PS2HD list it mentions use UMDA with no modes

the game seems to work fine apart from the art gallery screen

First off hdadvance is nothing more then hdloader with some patches so it can be patch with the aio hdl/hda patcher.
i don't know if hdadvance is better then hdloader 7c though
also about losing the games NO NO NEVER! when you used winhiip it formatted the hdd as a hdloader drive and hdadvance reads it so you don't need to touch your hdd.
as for using hdloader theres a bunch of ways to get it running through exploits

hdadvance is not better than 0.7c, equal at most.

this is what i was interested in as the udma mode makes \SC3 work , can i use this with HD Advance or would i need HD Loader

beacause in the download page it says it dosnt work with HDA only HDL

also i had noticed on winhiip 1.7.5 that theres an option use extented patches for HDL which ive ticked , is this the same thing ?

your running hdadvance off the disc right? you'd need to starting using an exploit if you want to run patched hdl/hda since you can't update your disc =P
all the extended patches on the winhiip does is boost your mode list when installing games from 1,2,3 to 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 which are just combinations of modes.
