this is to be considered as a BETA. grab the file from the link. its my tutorial how to get NGBC to boot from hdd.

but be warned, you cant play the game right now. sadly it freezes as soon as you hit the start button!

but maybe i will find a solution later on, or it will provide some info to some more skilled people then me to get it finally working off HDD.

i just thought to share how far i got till now.

    happy testing! ;-)

    copied from my readme:
    -----------------------
After many hours of work, here is as far as i got:

Tutorial- How to run NeoGeo Battle Coliseum on HDD
    -Full CD-HDD Image- (Nothing ripped)

Notes: This tutorial is for the japanese version of the original retail PS2 game NeoGeo Battle Coliseum. Only to speed up loading times!
I don't support piracy, so use this tutorial only with your bought retail copy of this game! It's worth to buy/import!
And use it on your own risk!
Be warned, the game freezes after pressing start.

-First extract all the contents from the original DVD to a folder.
-Replace NBC_0000.DAT and NBC_0001.DAT with 0 Byte dummy files
-Then Patch NF25_CD.ELF and NTGUI2.ELF with DVDScan37 to CD-R mode
-Then Replace "\MODULES\DNAS300.IMG" , "\MODULES\IOPRP300.IMG" and "NF\Modules\DNAS300.IMG" with the ones in this archive
-then open up FireFlower, click on "config" and open SLPS_255.58.pat and let it autopatch the file SLPS_255.58
-now build your CD image with cd-generator using LBA_Table.nfo (or use the iml in this archive) and iso2iml
-transfer the iso to hdd (e.g. hdldump)
-in HDL 0.7c use Mode 3
-after loading you can watch the intro and demo fights, with ultra speed loading times, but after pressing start it will freeze!
    ---

I fiddled around with this game for some days and used the information provided by benimaru2000 on psx-scene.com. although i didnt follow that japanese tutorial completely, i used some info and files it provided.
so the main credits for this tutorial don't go to me, but to those japanese (i dont know exactly who, "gomen ne"). greetz.

edit: lol, of course i meant "iml2iso", not the other way round

Among those japanese tutorials, is there anything by any chance about Kingdom Hearts 2?

Alright I'm confused. This does what exactly? It boots in mode 3 without any file changes. Never checked if demo fights worked in the normal version. But with neowave SIO2MAN they ran fine, so I'm presuming they did in original as well since goes in a different tangent.

Sorry Skm, but your tutorial is not for HDD, it's only for making a DVDRip of this game, that's all. Don't try to confuse us, please.

hm, sorry, i didnt mean to confuse anyone.

sure the method is like making a dvdrip. but since i didnt rip anything it doesnt fit on a cd. about 50mb too big.

and it boots from hdd. the dvd version just gives me a black screen, but this actually boots. but hangs after pressing start or during the demo randomly.

edit: and no, the japanese tutorial mentioned doesnt say anything about KH2. its just for NGBC.

edit2: after a little more messing around with NGBC, i tried hammering the start button at the snk logo like others suggested. u can get in the game from time to time, but still random freezes. i also tried the method that "sammaz" said in another forum but it doesnt work (for me at least). im sure its a fake!
so still no way of playing it with faster loading from hd. :_(
