Hi, I've been having some problems getting ripped DVD games working on my PS2. I have HDAdvance in my unmodded PS2 and i've sucessfully backed up games onto it before, & had them running.

However I recently tried putting 2 ripped games on there, Tenchu Fatal Shadows & Viewtiful Joe 2. I put them on using Winhiip.

First question: Do I put them on as as type CD or DVD? Their both just under 800meg but i left it on DVD for the mo. Now when I try to run them using HDAdvance, I just get a black screen.

I've tried different compatibility modes and everything but nothing seems to work. I have a PAL PS2, if their NTSC rips could that be something to do with it?

    Thanks in advance.

I think pal tv's can play both ntsc and pal games... I could be wrong since I've never owned a PAL tv. I think anything over 700mb is dvd, if you have the origionals than look at the bottom, blue is cd, silver is dvd. If you dowloaded it, the title usually says something like 'DVDrip' or 'CDrip' or 'PS2DVD' or 'PS2CD'.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick replies. There was no filename indicating whether they were DVD's or CD's with either of them so i'm not too sure. I found a PPF patch for tenchu which I tried applying but it didnt work, I guess its for the full version.

I guess i'll just move on and forget about them.

Can you apply that HD patch to the rip? I tried applying it to the game using winhiip whilst it was already on the HD using "Apply PPF patch" but it said that the patch did not match the game.
