K, to answer my own question i downloaded a completed gamesave from http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/save/914828.html (They Also have all 4 of the PAL "Camos" for Download) Both the "Duel Mode" And "Theatre Mode" work flawlessly from HDD

Do you use a downloaded ISO from the game or did you copy it to HD from the original disc? I'm asking this because my copy of MGS3 PAL still crashes the PS2 in the demo theatre - even when run from the HD (yes, I can also confirm that both duel and theatre mode work from HDLoader). Not to mention that the subtitles shouldn't be in English for the German version of the game. Still no response from Konami, either.

I didn't need to enable any mode in order to make it run from HDL.

Just tried "Date Patch 1" and on the PAL version it still goes to BSOD when you Select "BONUS" from the Special Menu, what mode you set on if any?

I doubt this will solve the crashing problem since I'm already experiencing this when I run the game from my original disc.
