Anyone managed to get the Metal Gear Solid PAL Bonus working off the HDD?
I think you have to complete the game for it to work, thats what I read anyway.
At the moment when i click on "Special" then "Bonus" I get BSOD, hopefully there's something that changes within the menu once the game is completed, has this worked for anyone else. Everything else seems to work fine e.g. "snake versus monkey" etc.
I've just completed it and tried to see if I could get to Bonus, as it isn't working for me either. It still freezes after you've completed it. Anyone know of a fix for it?Originally Posted by accadeecee
Have you tried any of the compatability modes? I know MGS3 works with no modes enabled but maybe mode 3 or something is required for the bonus stuff.
I tried a combination of different modes and different "date time" patches. all result in BSOD, which is a pity because the "Duel" mode sounds very cool. Seems someone's got it working?

I can surely say that the MGS3 PAL version is a dual layer dvd. Just because the serial number in the box starts by "82..." (normal dvd and no dvd games start by "52...") just like the other double layered games... and, the usa version, took a entirely DVD (4,6 gigs aprox). If the PAL version has extras, it has to take more than 4,6 gigs.. so, i'm almost sure that it's double layered, and in the second layer there are the extras. Any one that has the original game can take a look?

But... why it has the serial number starting by "82"? Look at all the double layered games, they all start by 82, and the other games by 52... it sounds strange to me... and, why if the game works perfect, the extras don't?
Might be a bit off topic, but is anyone having troubles with the theatre mode in MGS3 PAL version even if run from DVD? I have the German version of the game (German in-game subtitles) and oddly enough, the theatre mode subtitles are in English (can't change them). In addition to that, it sometimes crashes the PS2 upon loading a cutscene and always upon the end of a scene. I can tell for sure it's not my laser or a disc reading error since I have never had problems of this sort and the DVD isn't even accessed upon crashing.
Do I have a weird, faulty version of the game? Am I the only one experiencing this?
